i think this belongs in the art section, but anyway you need some animateing programs
-animation shop (comes with psp 7 i think)
-a gif to avi converter (optional)

the first thing you do when wondering how something works: google it.
if there's no matches or matches dont match what you wanted, google again.
after that, ask in the forums ;)

Rather, off-topic ;)

Anyway, either search for an animated avatar/picture or create one yourself. Taboo :P

Well if you are really serious you could buy Adobe Photoshop and use the imageready program (which is very good in my opinion) or you could just go to Download.com and search for "gif animator" or something along those lines.

i usually use gif creator, wich is free, simple, but takes long to work with.

it allows you to put pics in a row and do all kinds off fricky shizzl in the anims.

to make the pictures that go into that program, i use photoshop.

Go to www.gamani.com and get Gif Movie Gear. You can just make several different images, and put them in whatever order you want and hit save. Its a very basic animator.. and actually what I used to make new monsters for Diablo 2 back in the modding days.

I use Animation shop 3 or whatever that came with my legal version of paint shop pro. I don't really use PSP, but AS3 is failry useful for making simple animated gifs.
