uvw map question

Salaam
ok, i finally got my model unwrapped[had 2 remake it in 3dsmax, which i now have, n its way nicer then gmax]

but i dont think uvws are supposed to look like this, could some1 give me any insight?[the model is basically a staff in general shape if u needed 2 know that]



ok, just close this, my thing was 6785 polys, i have a lot 2 learn lol

Please, post this in modelling forum in the future.

Anyways, don't do those unwrappings, instead select all of the face of the model, then edit and do a back/front unwrapping. Then see if is the result you want, then you might want to unwrap some other parts into more details... Select the face of the parts(Like hand for example), and then do a back/front, or right/left, or top/bottom unwrap. See which one fits your needs, then do this for any parts of the model you want.
