Question on map size/loading

Is there any difference between modifying an existing unit, or creating a new custom unit, and leaving the exsiting unit as default? Are they equivalent in terms of map loading/size?

why don't you check it out yourself by the checking the difference in mapsize (in bytes)
anyways it doesn't make any (visual!) difference, only unit changes take space.

Its funny to be helping such an aspirational map maker... ur an idol man..
anyway, from my experience, replacing a unit in the MPQ can have great benifits:

First of all, from as far as i can tell, it reduces the map size of that unit and replaces it..

second, it means you dont have to add a seperate portrait which can lead to MORE map space...

Thirdly, you dont have to twiddle with the WE not recognising the unit and freezing up when u put that unit in with "no" model.. saves alot of hassle.

I just paste mine over unless that unit is nececary...
Anyway, keep at it, love ya maps!
