can this be done without making a new spell?

hi, I'm a noob WE user trying to make a cool rpg...I've read lots of stuff over the last week, tried out stuff, and I'm learning fast...anyway...

I want to have a hero based on the Druid of the Claw who has the ultimate ability of Bear Form just like the regular unit except the bear you turn into will be bigger and badder. Anyway, the bear form thing is an unit ability and I don't know how to make it a hero skill. I suppose that i could make a new hero skill thing based on the bear form thing but it seems like I might be able to do it some other way. I'm a noob so I don't know what the hell those spell editting things are talking about (I'm a noob to computers too... ): )

so to put off learning how to edit spells I was wondering if there is some easier way to do this.

here are some ideas I've had...

1) you could edit the metamorphosis ability that the Demon Hunter has and change the demon to a bear...and all that...
but that's spell editting...eep

2) you could somehow do a trigger where when the guy hits level 6 you give him the bear form ability...but then would it be in the Ultimate slot...

you're on the money with your 1st idea. it only requires editing of 2 .txt spell files so it's not that hard (unless u run into the same problems I've had :p) and won't take up much space. I have a similar hero spell in my map. Just change the demon form demon hunter into a bad bear in the unit editor and give the spell a new name, description and buttons. There are plenty of tutorials to help u

You can make Bear Form to a Hero Ability using AbilityData.slk. Just edit Hero Ability from "0" to "1" .It works for me.

thanks guys. this other thing that i'm wondering...
when you, say, go and edit the demon hunter metamorphosis ability and make it into a bad *** bear morph, do you get a NEW ability and still have the old one (please please) or are you now short a regular metamorphosis ability?

you can do it either way but i suggest you read a spell editing tutorial and read what other people have asked
