I've had a little search to no success, just a quick question, is it possible to use an ability to give passive ranged splash damage, without having to use a second attack? |

I think if you base it off the fire orb ability. |

the thing with this is that the splash damage from the fire orb is only the damage added by the fire orb, i want it to be more customisable (50% of total damage or definable) |

Wouldn't the GyroChoptor's flak ability work? I belive it should, just change the targets and wham bam there ya go. EDIT Okey, guess you can't do that, since the flak ability basically functions like an advanced fire orb, and the relation being it still uses the damage from the acctual ability itself... Sorry, can't help ya. EDITED AGIAN Alright, got a good idea, I hope. Give him the orb ability... BUT, make an item ability for that orb, based from Quill Spray. Since that grants splash damage, all you have to do now is make the orb hit 100% of the time and hit all the targets the original unit could hit. Just give the orb ability no bonuses... Hope that helps, which it should, peace. |

Should just make it trigger based... |

An an interesting twist of fate, I've heard reports that the 1.17 patch will include in it a trigger that assigns damage "from" a unit, thus allowing you to damage units as you wish and have them reward exp and gold accordingly with little hassle. But I still prefer non-trigger solutions to simple problems. |

Intresting, i've used triggers (caster system) to make it work fine but i'm gonna try this quil spray stuff cause thats even better. |

Bah, you can't give abilities abilities can you? no! you cant! Nice try though |

i'd use Kojiros suggestion, and that remark proves you know nothing about certain abilties. Yeah, in 1.17 theres a trigger "order unit to damage unit" and "order unit to damage point" i can see these being veery useful. |

Yeah i'm actually using 1.17, but for some reason the functions don't show up in WEUnlimited which is a shame, but i shouldnt expect it to seeing the patch hasnt even been released yet. I've never seen any abilities having the option of having an ablity, as its ability, maybe i'm just a bit of a n00b when it comes to WE. Anyway, I took a look and i'm fairly certain that you cant give the "item fire damage" Ability the quil ablity, but i'll take another look, on the other hand you might be able to give an item both abilities, but i don't think thats what you meant. |

Use the Pitlords smash attack ability for meele units, and the mortars splinter ability for ranged units |

Its not the item fire damage ability, or whatever. Go to create new ability. Go to items, press the o button, it'll bring you down to orbs, and use the new lightning orb. Since it has a chance to cast purge on people, you can change that ability to quill spray, just make sure your quill spray ability costs no mana and has no cooldown. Reputation points please! :) |

Frag shells only adds damage, doesnt use a percentage, and for some reason the above suggestion doesnt work, he ends up doing no damage, even when i give the quil ability a damage bonus. Odd |
