I've spent a whole lot of time over the last couple of days writing up strategy tips for heroes and for gameplay overall for my map. Now that I've spent all this time, I decided to find out whether or not people actually like them. What is everyone's opinion on having strategy tips added to the Quest Log? |

if it's an RPG i'm gonna spend 5 hours on, and i notice them, or if it's a map that seems cool but is confusing, i guess i'd look. |

i use them only if... a. i dont understand something b. i like the map and want to learn to be better playing it c. i want to see if there is anything i missed thats important to what im doing in the map. if its a map possible to play 1 player, most of the time i look at them. btw...you can view poll results without voting. |

Strategy tips are nice, though i dont really read them if they are to long because of how it prevents you from playing while everyone else is if its multiplayer, but in a single playered game stragy tips are always nice no matter the length. ;) |

Guest | Hmm. Alot of People dun bother to check quests ><. Like in my kind of map. the Gate Commands and stuff. They just blew the gate open even tho there wuz a trigger for it. N even tho i put 'Press F9 for gate commands!' at beginning of the game. they nvr bothered too. >< |

Scythe, I'd say that no matter what you do, the majority of people aren't going to look at/read strategy information - especially if it's a multiplayer map. I have two fairly obvious notifications in my map about strategy being contained in the Quest Log, but I sincerely believe they are rarely looked at. Incidentally, I think Sneb is right - long-winded strategy tips aren't as handy as a short one, possibly bulleted. The easier to read / scan through the better. |
