need help with a nasty bug

ok: I have slaved VS this bug for at least 2 weeks now (on and off of course.....but still at least 6-8 hours, maybe more) and I can not figure this damn thing out. Ive conquered some pretty tough bugs before, but this is the toughest bug ever, and I think I need some semi-pro help lol.

ok heres the scoop:

The Goal:

To make a custom Town Center building, the Guild of Commons

The Problem:

Is semi-fold. I think that there is an overlord problem if you will, over several smaller ones. It doesnt *recognize* my GoC (Guild of Commons) as a town center class unit, thus it counts the reveal clock down. It also doesnt *recognize* my Altar as an Altar, because if you build the altar, and go to a tavern, it still says "Requires an Altar". also, it refuses to *recognize* my heroes as being heroes, thus you can build all 4, in any age (as long as you have the resources.....it correctly recognizes the 5 food, then 425, 100, 5).

now this suggests to me an over-problem, above and beyond the GoC-reveal bug.

What I Have Tried:

I have tried taking a working GoC (based off of town hall), copying it from 2 different maps, and then pasting (editting all placement triggers etc), and it still didnt work on either case, even though both copied GoCs worked on other maps (this map is Hellfire).

I have also tried taking a Temple of the Tides from a multi-civ map I have (which works btw) and then changing artwork and name only, and that didnt work either.

An interesting note is that if you choose Human, NE, UD, or Orc, they all work fine.

I have also gone through all my chooserace triggers, and I have decided that they are ok, there is nothing in there wrong, or really that could cause this kind of a bug in the first place.

For the Heroes, I have set a trigger such that you can only build 1 of each of my 4 heroes (before that you could build as many heroes, even the same hero-type, as you wanted).

The Hero bug is almost certaintly tied to the GoC bug. because, in the Unit Editor, I have it set exactly like the normal heroes, in that techtree requirements = Guild of Nobles (Tier 2) and Guild of Chieftains (Tier 3). now then, if they arent working/not being recognized/whatever, that WOULD cause the Hero bug.

The Altar bug however seems standalone, except for the fact that its another recognition bug. My Altar is based off the human Altar of Kings.

My Random Thoughts (Read this if you didnt read all the above shit):

It seems to me that for some reason, *this* map refuses to recognize my GoC as a town center building, my Altar as a altar, and my Heroes....well, as I said above, that may be tied to the GoC bug.

It occurs to me as I type this.......the previous version of the map had my civ replacing the Human units/techtree.........while this version, my civ is standalone and and all 4 original civs (plus my own) are playable. which, on that note, my civ *IS* playable, if you look beyond these bugs, and everyone promises not to get 4 heroes in tier 1 ;)

in fact, I have played perhaps 5 full games, where everyone used my civ, so everyone had the same reveal bug

note that even though I have played 5 full games.........my civ is only halfway done :-)

but in order for this to be the best I can make it I need to get these bugs cleared up........and while Ive handled some pretty nasty ones before, this is by far the worst bug I have yet faced..........and I need some help!

did you go to gameplay constants and set the townhall and alter equivalents?

hehe actually I hadnt. so now the hero and altar bugs are fixed. however, it auto-set the TC constants I guess, cause they were already there (and I hanft touched that stuff). I took them off then re-added them and tested, but the TC bug is still there :(
