putting stuff in the same place

when making say a ladder from fences, you need all the fences to be in exactly the same place. if you drag them around, and they have no pathing, they end up a little off.

the best way I've figured out to do this, is to copy one, paste it where i want it, then without moving the mouse, raise it, then paste another, repeat. however, if I don't make enough the first time, I'll never get the mouse back there.

does anyone know a better way to get doodads to exactly the same point on the map?

The easiest way to do it is:
1.) Find the spot of where you want the ladder.
2.) Repetadle click on that spot and create as many ladders as needed to reach the top.
3.) Select all the ladders and hold shift, click once on the pile, then raise the ladders up a little bit, shift click once, repeat as many times as necessary.
