Ok...im not making this or anything. but heres what i would love to have! A program that you open up and press a button that says load spells. when it does it for you, you click on the spell and press "Edit" then u edit it in the way you would a Unit Editor. just an idea. |

this can't be done easily coz we can't change the behavior of a spell. What we can change are the spell properties, the spell values (for an example , make holy light heal 1000 hp points). A value of, say 50, can be something in one spell and have another meaning on another spell. That's why we can't create a "generic spell editor". |

Well, what you are saying is correct, but we can create a programme that has templates. When you start up te programme, you can add new spells only, changing would suck, cause it can cause malfunctions and such. But when you click create new spell, it show a menu that says please select spell to build from, and you get a list of all the spells there are. Then you get a easy editor that has for each field a discription that changes with what spell you choose, ie DATA11 is for blizzard number of waves, but for holy bolt the health healed (this is just an example) So when i have selected holy bolt as an template the label changes to Hp Healed, but when i have blizzard selected it shows Number of Waves. So this is possible :) and not even that much work, i could do it myself, although i need to work out how to edit, files with tables. (i guess just like csv?) Even the .txt could be changed, its all doable. anyway, its possible! |

You need a tutorial on how to copy and paste? Well here goes my best effort... 1) Go to the folder where the 'SpellEditor.exe' file is. 2) Select all of the 'files' in the folder. 3) Right click. 4) Select 'copy'. Woot, you're over the hill! 5) Go to your warcraft3 folder (this is the folder with the 'war3.exe' file. 6) Right click in the folder. 7) Select 'paste'. 8) Run the 'SpellEditor.exe' program by DOUBLE clicking on it. 9) Follow the other instructions on how to edit the slk. Now I know that I might have not gone to far into depth, but if you have any more problems, like 'what is a file?', or 'where is the right click button on my keyboard', or maybe even 'why is the box under my computer making noises for about half a second when I paste something?', then please ask them in the other topic. Thanks, and good luck. -Fredric |

Well its good that there is a spelleditor but hey you cant change any cool stuff.. like if you do then you get missing tools thing ingame. Ithink icon should also be included in this program, then its more easier or if you can add them inte to the basic WE cuz its easier to use on program then well more.. ;) good luck ihope next version will be with icons and all that stuff! |
