I hate the toonboom effect that is spawned when you use a tome.
I have been searching WE and the forums for a way to remove it but to no avail...
Does anyone know of a way to remove, or at least change this effect?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thnx in adv.

you could just do a workaround.. make a tomb not really a tomb, have it dissapper on pickup(purchase) and manually add the stats... would take like.. 2 min, and prob 0 lag problems if implemented simple

Im using it for health. I haven't found a direct way to add max health without using either a tome, or item ability. And item ability dosen't stack.

Besides, I just hate the toomboom and want to get rid of it. :D lol

i think...prehqaps if you go into the items section, and select the item, there might be an art - Special, if thats set to toonboom, then emove it and the problem might be sloved, or if that doesn't work, go into abiltys, and then select item abiltys and see if theres any art set to toonboom, the third and last way i can think of, is buffs and effects, i think it would be an effect but I will check on this later and see if any of these are right, hope this helps.

I think the boom is an attachemnt to the model, which means you need to edit the tome model itself.

If its not, then its probably hardcoded.

I'm quite confident that the toonboom is the death animation of the tome model. Just give tomes another model (perhaps something from wcsear.ch)

I've checked Items Abilities and Buffs none use the toonboom in
ANY of they're effects properties.
I've also looked and found Toonboom is NOT part of the tome
death animation. I'm not even using the tome model to begin
with anyway. lol
I even went searching through the Gameplay Constants
and Game Interface windows,.. to no avail...

... I guess that means it's hardcoded.

Crap...

Yes, it is in the model .

Does removing a model show the death animation? if it doesn't then you could try removing the item once the unit consumes it

Vex is correct, if you simply remove the item once it's used you won't see the death animation and you will still gain the health bonus.

toon boom is a mdx file and you could export a diffent effect you want to use and over right the toon boom path with the import manager and winMPQ. It is a special FX that I was planning to use as a "Puff of logic" in a map I am working on. I bet there is some kind of special FX buff that uses the toon boom. Also if you just want to remove toon boom from your game you could just over-ride the FX in your wc3X.mpq or whatever it is called so you will never see it again.
