Uncolored one = better. What is it? |

It looks like Halloween Jack's older, jockier brother who didn't amount to anything after high school. Interesting piece you got there . . . So . . . what is it really? |

Meh... I'm suprised that Candy hasn't commented yet... my inspiration was somewhat from Slade's ninja robots... 5 min colors because I was too lazy to do more... No invader zim stuff here... Just me messing with the Big shoulders and long arms thing... drawing claws is sooo much easier than drawing regular hands... methinks that claws be in me future... many claws... And there was a possibility of me changing my Race of Bird people to guys like these... because they are much easier to draw... although the culture would need changing... think its a good idea to do that? And I'd like to hear suggestions for a second rendition. icbm1987 |

I agree with Muo.. the sketched one looks nicer. Good job on it. Idea for next one: a smaller, impier one.. with longer arms? That'd look weird.. |

The drawing isn't bad, and I like the design of it. The minimalism is a good way to portray this sort of character. If you were to draw this again, here are some of my suggestions. Experiment with a Frankenstein sort of head, one with huge brows and sunken eyes. See where that gets you. Also, I don't really like the one eye bigger than the other thing. I think it'd overdone whenever I see it, but that's probably just a strange pet peeve. The coloring, even though quickly done and rough, has some nice qualities. I like that smidge of blue visible around te fringes of the red; that's a nice touch, even if unintentional or without purpose. The coloring is really sloppy though, and there isn't really any excuse to that. There's a fine line between it being sketchy/exuberant and messy/careless. I would concentrate on the lighting. To add a lot of interest, make that background very dark, and have a shadow stretching out in front of him, having been lit from behind. Let's see you take this farther. |

Heh... the eye thing is a favorite of mine for some reason... it gives a physical representation of the character's mental confusion for me. I know, 5 min isn't really a good amount of time to work with, but the result is oddly pleasing. I'll see what more I can do with this If I have time tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas, especially from Ogre. icbm1987 |

Ha, I like it. I agree though, the sketch is better. |

sketch does look better, thoses guys are neat, i would see them living in caves or undergrounds maybe even under desert sand, if you wanna change your race to thoses its your choice, nothing hold you |

i think we all agree that scetch = better :D honestly i think they look like a forest race.... not a deep dark forest, but one of those pine/oak forests where the ground is bare and there are just tall spindly trees that pop up everywhere... a place where at dawn you can see bright shafts of light hit the dark earthen forest floor. only thing i would think you would have to change is the color of the skin.... i based this conjecture over the clothing style. It really doesnt look like something you would wear in a cave or marsh... maybe the sands. Thats the second thing i thought of as per Saboera. |

Mmmmm....I seem to like the colored one better. Maybe if you trimmed the color outside the lines it would make it look better? I really like how you drew the picture. |

Will you all please tell me why the sketch is better? The same lines are on both... so I don't quite get it... Meh... Mountains/caves make for the most fun dwellings. I'll see if I can draw some more today. icbm1987 |

when you colored it, you changed the line quality of the drawing. The colored one has far thicker, messier lines than the sketch, which (though sketchy) has a cleanliness that your colored version lacks |

Also you can't tell that hes walking on the colored one, i like the sketched on better as well. |
