Hey guys how you all doing? Well after playing the x-box game fable, ive decided to bring it to Warcraft3. I will be needing a good devoted team to help me recreate it. Heres a list of people I will need: Skinners Modelers Triggers Jasc Users Mapers Terrainers Artists Scripters AI programmers now I really want this game to be awsome I want every unit on the maps to have lives during the day they will buy things and at night go to sleep. For now I will spend the weekend coming up with a few map tests and then the next two weeks will be for hireing staff. God speed everyone Pm or e-mail [email protected] to contact me. |

Oh, please, no, not again, please someone, shoot me! Hurry up and shoot me so I am relieved of my duties and all the misery will end! Please, I, moderator of the Team Gathering section, the oh-so-great Fladian, asks to be killed! ... ... ...*uttermost quiet* ... ... ...damn... Right, dear Dalor... Dollar... Dalam... Napalm... hey, that sounds right. Meh... let's start by saying this. Don't understand me wrong or anything, my 'dis-love' for projects based on games have little to do with this, hey, I heard stories about Fable, if the story is true, then there is a lot of chance it would become my favorite game, *if* I would posses a X-box that is :P But back to topic... Look, you've asked for every job available, including 'mapper' and I don't even got the slightest clue what that is, since you also named 'Terrainer', meaning that 'Mapper' should be something else. The other point is, by asking SO much, it means you can't do anything yourself, meaning that probably no one - or at least no real quality modder (With Pheon-Pheon or Whitehorn as example) - will join. You asked for more then what is available, and also the fact of the most rarest of jobs such as Modelers or AI Programmers. The other part is, I don't know you. Not too strange since you recently signed up, and the fact that I have an extremely short memory comes into play, but still, usually I remember a bit of someone. Usually this means also that someone does not have the experience or skills to lead or even create a team. Your post confirmed this for me, with a friendly 'Thank you' for you. Well, as people may notice by now, I'm not in the best mood ever, has probably got to do with the weather (and the rain I had to run through, come on, I was litterly soaked when I got home. Even my shirt was wet from all sides even though my jacket, blouse and partly pants covered it! And then to think, it was about 50 meters running) or the gloomy faces on school... Ugh, I don't even want to think back on that :P But by all means, now I'm in a bad mood anyway, I might as well go on with it. Right uh... so let me get this straight. Problem: You probably don't got any skills yourself, or at least nothing of quality. Confirmed: You asked for every job available and more then which is neccessary. Problem: You do not have team experience or any experience to lead a team. Confirmed: Your style of the post, and the jobs you ask for. Problem: The project is *WAAAAAAAAY* too big to start out with. Hey, by all means, I am, or rather was, working on something similar, and after so long, I'm still working on it. Confirmed: Nothing to confirm about. Well, I can say everything with that. I'm sure someone else will finish my list ;) Disabled Anus, Alby, any volunteers? :P Right Thank you for your time -Fladian |

i fear he is right. See, i also have a Project running. Its not my first, but its gonna be the first i make public. The thing is, i can make graphics, icons, terran and trigger. i cannot model or do JASS, but (and that is the point), i'm willing to help those who do me the JASS and Model thing with the graphical part. So, your story and all could be the best ever, but without any skill you have theres no future for this. Better start with something little and then continue with the greater project when your known by some dudes around. |

"fear he's right" doesn't sound very encouraging on my part -_-' nor does it really matter. But like Shady said, how good the story might be, there's nothing you can do without any skills. |

omg whatever and just because i asked for those positions doesnt mean i will slack off. I fucking drew maps out on the layout of the zones for the game. I also can skin, terrain and model so before you talk about me being a slacker first ask about my background rather than point the finger at me. |

BAHA Here to the rescue, so glad you remember Flad, anyway, good luck newbie! And with that said, I'm already working on a conversion like Fable, but istead to an open RPG, has an alignment system like Fable, and it might feature some type of housing or something like that to be planned. (Have a General Idea), work has already started and I know I can accomplish everything I have planned because I written it out and how I'm going to do it (At least the basics). But anyways,... Your just working on making the units it looks like if you want help on all the others, its better to have a small talented team, then tons of people because sharing the map between each other is a difficult task. Which adds even more to the difficult task of making a Warcraft 3 map like Fable. Daily Lives is a difficult procedure, but I also have build in points which alter people's actions if you are good or evil, in addition to their lives. You have not even comprehended the difficulty of this project, let alone decide what you want to do, except for people to have lives. You need to think about your project before you ever post about it. I remember my first post on my project, in Microsoft Word would have been at least 2 pages single spaced, because it has every detail on the map. I wasn't asking for a 100,000 man team either, I was asking for just 1 guy to terrain for me, since I have no skill at all. I was willing to do everything else, in fact I wanted to do everything else myself, if you don't have that kind of passion to make your map, you shouldn't be leading a team. |

i wasnt makeing an open rpg, it was going to be a 1 player campaign, and your ideas were the same that were in my head. We should talk about this perhaps we can work together im not to far into my project so maybe we can work off yours? |

I'm confused, is it your project? and unless you want to do my petty work like just changing the player numbers for every multiple player, I prefer not to work toghther, sorry, or unless you can terrain. |

Let me tell you the reasons why this project would fail, other than those mentioned by good ol' Flad here. First off, why would you even attempt to remake it, when there is no possible way your campaign will ever live up to the expectations of such a mod? If you say it's going to be a Fable conversion, it had damn well better be that, or you'll get no popularity or even publicity. Unless you're a very highly skilled triggerer and/or coder, you'll never be able to compete with the original. From the signs of your intellect just from your posts here, I can tell that you are not, in fact, a highly skilled programmer. If you can't use proper english syntax/grammar, how in hell are you going to be able to use proper JASS syntax? Second of all, you say you're a modeller, terrainer, skinner, etc, though those are just words, and you know it. If you had quality material, surely you would have used it to attract some people to that numerous amount of openings you have there, would you not have? In that case, you may be able to model and skin, but obviously it's not your forte, because you have nothing worth showing. </rant> |

Though Jarin's post might sound offensive when that post is read only - meaning that all other posts, including the main thread post is ignored - it actually isn't. They are, sort of, like my own words. Though the "Good ol' Flad" thing make me sound like an 80 year old man -_- Anyway, Dollar! Err... Do.. Da... Napalm! People can always be negative, even though I always try to be positive, this is just too crazy for words, not to mention I wasn't in the best mood ever when I posted. True, it only happens once in a while that I'm in a really good mood, but still, it was a bit worse then usual. I think everyone knows how annoying it is to run through a... storm. I was soaked! Uhhum... you said, you wouldn't slack off by asking those postions, but like Disabled Anus said, people don't always need such a huge team to work. If you go back 6 months in time you (more now) saw me working on my project *alone*. I'm a one-man-team, able to do everything excluding models, Jass and skins (and that's called everything? Well, enough to create quality) why would you be any different? I mean, you ask for every job available, about 99.9% the possibility that that person is completely experienceless, not to mention unable to lead a team, which you kindly confirmed for me. You might have drawn it out, I on the other hand, created a world from scrap. Uh... I wrote everything down and I'm still not finished. I planned to let it be about 30 pages, I thought I would have everything then. I'm at 58 pages right now, and still far from finished. "Drawing maps" is really nothing compared to myself. "I also can skin, terrain and model so before you talk about me being a slacker first ask about my background rather than point the finger at me." is what you said, now, if you can skin, terrain and not to mention, you can also model - which is rare enough these days - then why in the world ask for every job available? The more people you ask while being experienceless, the more trouble it will give. I've lead a team often enough to have the experience (if you let me count, I was a team leader twice and a team member twice... no, three times, heck, even 4 times, I forgot the one of P.star) and know how and what people lack. I am in no need of asking any background advice if the poster doesn't give any himself. I am forced to see how good someone by their posts, and about 80% of the times, I'm right. I doubt I'm not right this time. Disabled Anus' idea is good, and completely supported, at least by me. I still need to post in it, but I didn't have the time for it yet. After all, 2 things are still bothering me... and one of those 'things' is big enough to change my entire life permanently, not to mention the reason for me to leave wc3c forum. Oh yeah, speaking of which... What in the world is the difference between a 'mapper' and a 'terrainer', since you 'asked' both, you should know it. You remind me awfully much to someone I know - who lives across the street, a kid who is over-confident in his English Language (13 years old) but can barely read what I say or write, not to mention him using words he doesn't even know the meaning of - I'm not saying your intelligence is the same to him - probably not - but, you remind me of him, that's all. Disabled Anus, you've been quite un-active out here? What happened? You were so active back then. -Fladian |

I've been hanging out at school more... offseason weightlifting for basketball, and conditioning, and I stay after school and usually go somewhere.... so I don't make it home but 2 hours before I goto sleep and those 2 hours are left for homework or talking to people... I still look at most everything, I just don't post like I used too, it takes up alot more time than just looking, but I happened to see this one and laughed :). |

Ah.. ah.. ahaha... that explains it Disabled Anus. I was just worried you would dissapear before I would leave ;) Anyway, back to topic ^^ |

You have to be the absolute dumbest person in the world..... noooo, wait, maybe some were worse... but I could compile a nice list and you'd be pretty high up. I like this community, nice cul'de'sack, friendly neighbors, Fladians nice garden over there... |

Well ok Mr. Asshole, I was about to tell you I could easily make the karma/alignment and renown system for you but ok, be a jerk. What they said is right, this project would be near impossible to pull off, you would never get the aging shit right, nor the scars or anything else like that. All you could do is: 1. The split Exp bars 2. Renown 3. Alignment 4. Reactions to alignment And I could've done all four for you, but now I'm not going to waste my time. Good job. |
