Ok, note this is REALLY (early) WIP. I apologize beforehand on the size fo the image for any 56kers (about 120 KB) but it's hard to fit that model in screenies. ^^ This is supposed to be a concept for a 'Cursed Gorgon' using the Naga Seawitch model. The theme is that this gorgon is NOT an insane creature of evil. Instead, this intelligent female actually has blinded herself (blindfolded) to protect others from her own petrifying gaze. Her other senses became attuned to a level where she can compensate for her self-forced blindness. She's also trying to find a cure for the 'curse' of her race (how they originally became gorgons) as she goes out and experiences the world, not wanting to be a 'dangerous monster' with her glare o' stone. Skin' attached, of course. She's supposed to have a RED snake theme, instead of a typical green one (for uniqueness and a spell idea where she rips out one of her hair snakes and fires it to become a Serpent Ward). And look somewhat tattered with a few mystical accessories. Yet not ugly. Trouble spots: -Currently, the hair-snakes and lower half are merely recolored (barring tiny edits like the waistcloth) to go with a red theme. -Shoulder pads are untouched as of yet. -The 'fin' at the end of the tail is a real pain in the @$$. The top part of it comes from the 'non-bow arms' and has team color, so no alphaing out. The bottom parts comes from the model's TORSO (belly) so again, no alphaing out unless you want a big hole. -Uh, lips need more 'definition'? Again, it's early. Any feedback on the hero concept itself or the skin? Psy D |

unique idea, looks cool. the metal look weird on her non bow arms.but then again it would change the tail. think you should change the mouth, make her lip more red and striking. and the silver thing blow her belly is higher than the one on the back. |

I like this skin. This would be a great skin in Battle For Atlantis! However the face is a bit strange. Maybe try eyes instead of the cloth. And also make the lips more red, as Windrunner said! GO SO FAR! |

Windrunner: Yeah, the silver 'armor' on the non-bow-arms was just a weird little idea...I was actually thinking of skinning those arms into more 'snake hair', but it'd affect the tail and look odd coming out of her shoulders. As for the lips, yeah, I definitely want to edit them. THE END: Thanks. The lips, as above. As for the face, well, I do want to use the above concept, of a gorgon that is trying to protect others from her glare, and this is the only way really (other than a Cyclops-like visor...but that'll look too 'futuristic'). Plus it lets me play with her having 'heightened senses' since she can't see. ;) But I'll still work on it more, of course. Keep the feedback coming, please. ^^ Psy D |

D'OH! i was just going to start making this myself becouse i didnt see any progress over at the hubb, but now i see you have started it... lol i really felt like doing it ;) personally what i wanted to do is make the snakes on her head look a little see through and glowy, same color as snake wards. this would allow us to abuse snakeward and red lightening stuff for her abilities, wich we WILL do ^ ^ i am afraid the abilities you have made up before will get changed around a bit psy... i hope thats not too much of an insult or anything... still thinking about several concepts. for example, her swim anim might be abused for a flying ability =D commentos: shes looking good, but the color of red is a bit too dark. it would be better for skills if it where about the same color as the serpent wards... indeed i dont like the metal... it doesnt really suit her. i must say i imagined her a bit more richer, with greek-like cloth and stuff, but i guess thats up to you to decide... the blindfold looks a bit too dirty imo, like some old archmage used it as a diper for several years... but you've made a verry appealing start here! |

Ertw: Let's see... First off, eh, you didn't see any progress cause it seems thehubb boards went down pretty soon after I posted this screenshot there in her thread...and they're still down, it seems. :\ I'm not stopping you from trying to do the skin yourself, of course...I just felt my usual 'do the concept all the way through' urge with this one. ^^ On making the snakes glowy/transparent: I wouldn't recommend that with this model, from what I've seen from playing with it. If you alpha the hair-snakes at all, it's going to make the top of her head 'see-through' as well. Plus the texture from the hair-snakes is applied to the bow. I figured abilities would get changed, really...tho I still think attuned senses and flash arrow fit for her 'self-impairment plot' and using her cursed sight for the ult. But of course I'm open to changes. On the red: That's not a big problem...I figured it'd have to change to something more 'orange-red' to fit serpent wards. Shouldn't be a tough edit for that. On the metal: Yeah, I figured it'd have to change. I was just going for some...'thin silver scale mail' on the non-bow-arms for a minor armored snakey image. I'm very open to suggestions (in fact, I NEED them ;) )...just remember tho, whatever replaces the metal also goes on the top of the 'fin' of her tail. On her ragged image/theme: Well, that was just 'plot' I had in mind. If you're a member of a normally insane and monstrous race, I don't think your clothing options are going to be too good. Plus the fact that even tho she isn't a 'monster', going to be hard to shop for really good clothes for quite some time. ;) So I had her with makeshift clothing. I was actually considering something like a white Greek-themed top (tho still exposing flesh), but it seemed too 'clean', plus I'd like to one-shoulder it and, as usual, symmetry on the model screws that plan. However, I will give it a try along with the color shift. As for the blindfold, eh, I'll try brightening it and making it only one 'strip' instead of multiple ones. i just noticed she has wrinkles on her forehead? i'd prefer her to be really pretty... for the partually alphaing of the snakes i actually meant just the heads and a little part of the 'neck', not the entire thing ^ ^ and if part of the bow becomes see-through glowy as well, i dont see a problem with that. i'd suggest to make the arms the same as the others, bare skin. i dont think will screw up the tail too much... i might give it a try as well, but more casters have to be made ^ ^ so i'll try and find something wich i can use for a caster... and make something original of. |

Hm? No, she doesn't have wrinkles on the forehead. There's a thin, golden hoop-ring shaped tiara between the blindfold and the 'hair'...maybe that's what you mean? Ah, understood on the hair-snakes...I'll do a set transparency for the heads and start of necks, then gradually make it opaque up to a point. After doing the color shift that is. Bare arms, ok. Will pop up with another version later here (and at your board, if it's back up). Psy D |

How about you cut the mail before the 'elbow' in the non bow arms, so they turn into bracers? Other than the metal part, that looks pretty good. |

Ok, attached is an update with several edits: -First off, cleaned her outfit up a lot. Made it a white gown of sorts (Greek?) with gold trim, though still showing off some shoulder/belly skin. ;) -Also changed bow-arms to mostly bare with some golden bracers/bracelets. -Changed non-bow-arms to match the bow-arms: bare with similar gold accessories. Note however that this has affected the top of the fin on the tail, of course. <: -Edited the blindfold. Now it's 'cleaner' white material and only one strip instead of multiple ones. -Lips given more definition, size and color. -The color tone of her hair-snakes and body is now more orange-red than dark red. Matches Serpent Wards somewhat better, I think/hope. ^^ Unfortunately, I tried to do a gradual transparency affect on the hair-snakes from their heads down the bodies...with bad news/results. The alpha work there seems rather...'binary'. Basically, you can make them SLIGHTLY transparent up to a point (however, the transparency is practically undetectable unless you get REALLY close to the model), after which...poof...FULLY transparent (aka a hole). I'll give it another try, but I think it's going to be a negative on that idea. Oh yeah, the shoulder pads are still those from the default skin (and the only thing showing team color currently). Leave 'em? Change 'em? Ideas? Further feeback/suggestions? ^^ Psy D |

i personally dont like the way u paint the golden garnishments - cause golden bracelets arent yellow things with just brown lines / borders - im only saying that cause i know u can do that better |

Guest | Hey, put a piercing in her belly button. I think it would look rather nice.. And, nice skin in every way. Except the old Gorgons in the Greek history books was big, fat and purple skinned. :/ Oh well. Nice concept. |
