Just import a .tga file(can't just be a jpg file renamed to tga) and change the path/filename to war3mappreview.tga(no path). It has to be 128x128 or 256x256 i think. |

Guest | You must not have looked hard enuf. therez quite alot of Qs like this coming out.. Use a Program like Irfanview to crop/resize ur image to 256x256 pixels and den save the image as a tga.file and not any others like jpg. Then import the image into your map and set the path as war3MapPreview.tga , this shuld work ;) |

Good lord. U say uve looked everywhere!?!??! ive answered this 3 times this WEEK! Cmon! Make a new image sized 256x256 with 32 bit depth. paste ur image over this empty frame. use the free transform to get it to sze. Go to channels and add an Alpha channel that is 100% opaqe. go to format menu up top. Go to flatten image. go to save as: and save it as a TarGA called: war3mappreview.tga go into your map. Go to the import manager Go: Import Import the file. Double click on it when it ocmes up. It should say this greyed out: imported/war3mappreview.tga chech the button "use custom path" Delete the text: "imported/" hit OK It should show up saying this: war3mappreview Image/Picture war3mappreview.tga now ur map has a Custom Map preview! |

Well, I guess the advantage of having this questions asked by people who don't know how to use the search button is that everyone who pays any attention whatsoever to the forum knows the answer. And, no, there's no need for a tutorial. You just need to know the dimensions, bit depth, and path. Be gentle, guys. We're not a bunch of bloodthirsty mapmaking cannibals. |

Well, okay. With certain cherished contributors excepted. :) |

What I've meant is a tutorial for all the people too stupid to use the search button. |

Maybe I'll put a quick mention of it in the Handy WE tips, just for slackers. |

The real slackers don't look in the Handy thread anyway. That's why they create a new thread only to post a question that's already answered all over the whole forum. |

Ha! Speak for yourself anyway, im thinking of making a tourturial of this and various other *inexperienced* questions. Curently im thinking of theese: Map Previews In game minimap changing Importing Target Attachments Buff editing Very Basic Trigering Is there anything else i should add? SHould i do it at all? hmmm i probobally shoud.. What do you think Panto? |

The answers to all these things exist within easy reach in this forum. Maybe you should write a tutorial that says "Use the F-ing Search feature!" |

Well sorry for starting all of this controversy... but thanks i got the preview to work ^_^ Oh, and about those tutorial things who ever was going to make them, that'd be a great idea... not for me *wink wink* but for the inexpireienced mappers... :o |
