I wanted to create a realistic forest. It came out pretty good, and I tryed out the new sky I found. |

The sky looks more like a sunset than a sunrise. |

Nice use on the, eh, what're they called, man, got to learn english, those water-vegetables... Nothing to comment on, really, I just wondered maybe if one should add some roll&pitch to those waterveggies, not sure if it'd do any good thou... Thou, if they're supposed to be leaves (not sure if they were, just thinking out loud) I'd say not so lilac colour, smaller, and many more of them... Maybe some small grass (river rushes, changing the colour darker) but that's the only constructive I can say. Great work! Oh, oh, just realized something - it looks like if there's a northrend tree there. You maybe wanted the white effect, like, some spooky dead kind of tree, I just wondered if you might get a better effect if you'd change it's texture so it's blighted... If you don't know, it's the Replaceable Texture File - ReplaceableTextures\NorthrendTree\NorthTreeBlight If my eyes serve me, it adds some nice cobwebs too, or they're lying... Good work anyway, great! |

Looks ok, doesn't seem like this was ment to show off the terrain, more the sky. needs grasses, more detail and more mall high res. doodads around the tress and in the branches to take attention away from the low res tree leaves and make it seem less "cheesey" i don't know what term to use. |

@Zarniwoop: Useing roll and pitch for the "lillypads" would look great, I guess I forgot about that. The nothered tree was just suppose to look like a leaf less tree, dieing/hibernating but I don't remember what it looks like with blight maybe I'd look too dark but I'll try it. I thought about adding grass but I had already gone over my 2500 doodad limit for such a small area, and when I use grass, I usally go crazy with it and probably end up with about 3000+ in just grass doodads. Anyways ty lots for the constructive critisim. @Shining: STFU, it could be a chinese sun rise. And havn't you ever heard of, Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning, EH? EH? @Falitian: I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by high resolution trees and low resolution trees o_O . |

Well the scaled up trees have a low resultion, they apear blured and undetailed up close, like when you create large upscaled buildings you need to put lots of small doodads around and on them to draw attention away from the blury building and make it seem more "real". Same with large trees that the camera sees upclose, you need to put bushes and foresty things around them to draw attention away from the blury trees and make the trees seem more interesting and detailed. I'll ppost some b4 and after ss of an old terrain I did when I learned about detailing large buildings. Edit: Ok, i lost my troll village, damn it. I ahve the b4 pics but not trhe after ones after i souped it up with stuff.... Hmmmmm ....... |

Found my troll village if you wer einterested in those b4 and after pics showing you what I was talking about adding smaller doodads. Post ss tomarrow its 2:00 am right now. Edit: If you were interested I made some ss so here are some b4 and after pics. hers the best example,of whatm i was talking about using small doodads to draw attention frpom sclaed up ones. In this case its the large scaleds up hut, and I use leaves and plants to add the detail that directs yoiur attention to the plants instaed of the low res hut. Before After There arew some mroe pics I attatched to show you more xamples of this. |
