I posted for some help with these spells cuse I am really a terrain person but I am really looking forward to putting tougher a nice eye candy map :) Its gonna be a DoTA style map but I hope to focus on making it look unique by useing large scale spells with lots of special effects to add to the fun. Any input on how these spells sound and if you saw them in a map if you would be tempted to try it or not :) Bombing Pheonix A. player targets a ground area B. Pheonix is summoned (non targetable) and flys in a circle around ground targeted area droping phoenix eggs that expload when they hit the ground. C. Pheonix then exploades in center of circle Trip wire A. Player targets 2 spots on ground within a certen range B. bomb is places at each end and a lazer connects between them (bombs hidden to enemy but lazer beam very faint to enemy) C. When enemy unit crosses beam both bombs expload inwards to targets (would like to see rocks fly at targets and fire....maybe even fire/smoke on ground for short time after) (no name yet) A. Player casts spell on target or ground B. projectile is in cone shape C. Solid ice covers ground and any enemys in area of spell freezing them in place D. Commet of fire then comes from sky and shatters Ice (ice shards fly around) and enemys burn (fire effect attacted to enemy for short time) (no name yet) A. Player targets a player B. Energy feild is places in a cube around area traping all units inside for a duration (players traped inside cage can move around but cant get out till end of spell duration) Forest Fire A. Ground target B. Trees spread out a bit from eachother alowing players to be within newly grown forest C. Trees become ablaze burning all near it, trees turn to dead trees and smoke come from them then they disapear in smoke revealing treestums which fade in time. |

I think I could help with forest fire, though it would be a lot of testing in the end to figure out if the trees were spread right. I'm thinking that if you gave the trees immolation, all of them, target eachother, when they die, make death time instant, and then remove and replace with dead trees. Edit: Few things I thought of: 1. Base it off of Banish if you want a single targeting spell, if not use something else *shrugs* 2. If you can't give doodads abilities (I've never tried), make dummy unit trees, skin with that tree of course, and do it that way 3. Don't make the immolation hit eachother, make the trees have negative regen and locust ability. 4. Nevermind #3, just do it (the dummy units I mean), no doodads except for the dead trees and the stumps. |

Second to last spell should use units that are invisible, possibly you could apply an effect on their origin (They should have no model). Then you just block it in a circle around him, by creating these dummyunits around him. Apply any other special effects you need above that. Edit: It does seem like a rather fun spell if you're not trapped too long (Because that's über boring). You gotta either move other units in the same "trapping" area or you can leave it open to trap several units. |
