weird problem with adding files in .w3m

i started this map some time ago, during v1.00 and i decided to start reworking on it lately. It's a huge rpg and i want to modify spells and their strings, tooltips. I modified the .txt files and then uploaded em in the w3m file with mpq2k...But in the game i dont get any changes. Then i decided to try this on a new map. modified the files and uploaded them, and for some reason...it works. Now i dont know why it works on any other maps , but doesnt work on my RPG....does anyone know what the problem is?

Guest	Did you try restarting the map? Warcraft 3 has a nasty problem of not working on the first run. :(

what do you mean restarting the map?.....thats exactly what i dont want to do. I want to upload the slk and txt files into my map and have the changes working without having to redo everything. My rpg is almost done. its huge and working on it is a pain in the *** cuz its so laggy. the last thing id want to do is restarting it all over... unless thats not what you mean.

Im starting to ask myself questions. if its not cuz i started the map back in the first version or something. I know im doing everything right cuz i tried on other maps and it worked....

MicrosoftXP	make sure you close the world editor (or at clear the map your working on) before atempting to load any files into your .w3m

jpfat	i did... and i didnt open it in the editor after that either since it deletes the added files.

No I mean in-game via the menus. After you load it in War3 the first time go to restart mission. :) sorry for the confusion!

jpfat	lol yea i tried that and it works now.....the only problem is that ill have to make another map load with the same files in it b4 the main file... ill probably make a cheesy intro that than loads the main map. thx for the help anyway.

Yeah thats what I'm doing for my RPG. A good RPG needs an intro anyway!! =) Anyway good luck! (Can't wait to play it =D )
