what does the art - occlusion height field on a destructable do exactly? i notice it seems to be the difference btwn a pathing and a Line of sight blocker.

I believe Occlusion height is the distance from the ground that the object blocks the visibility.
For example, if you have an object with an Occlusion height of 200, flying units with flying heights up to 200 won't be able to see over it, but units above that will.

Correct me if you believe that this is wrong.

i tried occlusion height 9999 and flying units could see over. i can't figure out how to block flying unit vision :-( I'm considering not having flying units on my map at all as a fix, which sucks.

what were the difference between the doodad and the destructible?

Panto
The difference is that destructibles can be manipulated in-game. Except for changing aspects of their animation, doodads can't be altered during the game, which in turn means that they take up substantially less processing power while the game is running. You'd only want a doodad to be a destructible if you specifically needed to create, destroy, move, or in some cases, open it.

doodads can't be destroyed and destructibles (hence the text) can be destroyed

You can't destroy a line of sight/pathing blocker in game, ONLY through triggers. use LoS blockers.

you're missing the point. they don't block flying units from seeing!
