Black Cinematic Borders Tutorial: By: Iron_Ian Ever wanted to have black cinematic borders in your cinematics like TTOA or COTD? Following this tutorial, you can easily modify the interface to use custom black textures to make a black border. (NOTE: This tutorial has not been tested for compatibility with the normal game menus, however I assure it works for 100% Cinematic Maps. 1. First download the following blp files: BlackBorder.blp NewCinBorder.blp 2. Open the World Editor, and import both blp files into your map. 3. Go to the Advanced Menu at the top of the screen and select "Game Interface". A window should open with a list of interface items that can be replaced, check the "Use Custom Game Interface" box in the upper left of the Game Interface window. 4. Edit the following fields to use the custom blp files: "Image - Cinematic Border" - Change it to use "BlackBorder.blp" "Image - Console Background" - Change it to use "BlackBorder.blp" "Image - Game Menu Background" - Change it to use "BlackBorder.blp" "Image - Game Menu Blank Background" - Change it to use "BlackBorder.blp" "Image - Game Menu Border" - Change it to use "NewCinBorder.blp" 5. Thats all there is to it. Now you can test your cinematic, and the border will be black. No credit is needed for these blp files, they were very simple to create. You may modify them freely if you wish. Please do not distribute this tutorial without my permission, if you wish to place this tutorial on your own website, email me at: [email protected] |

There is actually a way that requires NO imported files whatsoever... If you don't mind leaving the border around the speech box as it is normally, simply change: "Image: Cinematic Border" "Image: Console Background" "Image: Game Menu Background" to "UI\Widgets\EscMenu\Human\blank-background.blp" |
