Ok, firstly, let me tell you about some photoshop magic. Take your picture with blue lines, and crank up the saturation on it by about 50 % or so (ctrl/cmd + U). Having done that, go ye into the channels tab. If you can't find it, hit alt + W, then alt + H. Deselect the red and green channels so that you are only in the blue channel. Make sure RGB as a whole is still selected, but uncheck red and green. Then you can go and turn the image into a grayscale picture. Your blue lines should be for the most part removed. Also, the methodology is for Photoshop 7, but you can probably figure it out if you have something else. Anyways, the sketches do have merit. My favorite is the first one, the Nightmare. Great shape dynamics, and I like the asymmetry. That sword looks unproportionately large, but I've played enough Final Fantasy to overlook the fact. There's not much I can affirmatively criticize, because drawing isn't an area I can say I know enough about to give out advice. I would say that the shading (or lack thereof, in some cases), could be improved and that your drawings in general here could benefit from more contrast. But they are sketches, so it could be a moot point. Keep it up. I'd like to see more of these. And in the future, stay away from lined paper. I know, I know, whatever's handy, right? Well, I have to draw on paper that's around $3.00 a sheet regularly, so a sketchbook or even typewriter paper wouldn't cause you any harm. I like the dynamics in the pictures, and the poses and technique is great. For your finished pieces, do you use ink? Looking at your line quality, I think it might suit you well. But if you're good at getting those nice grades with pencils, tighten these up a little. |

Ogre... You need to play some Soul Caliber 2. The left hand on Nightmare looks a bit off... kinda like you rushed through that part... your mitten hands are better than his left. I still don't get how a sword qualifies as siege... a hammer will hurt a building more than a slashing weapon... but w/e... I like the horse though... very nice horse. Hellraiser looks F-in' cool in that pose... and I like the way you decided to draw him. Makes me wanna see your Asty and or Voldo... mmmm... bondage... icbm1987 |

>_< Asty is still too small... His muscles should bulge beyond his shoulders... and his neck should be much thicker... Think "grossly Ripped"... Kind of like Zangief from Street Fighter... but bulkier. DSA stuff is looking cool as always... icbm1987 |

Excellent drawings as always, death - though one wonders why the undead need gas masks! |

because they look even creepier with them and when they get it knocked off, it would be something like, knowing something worse behind their masks. EDIT: reply to ogre, no, i dont really ink pictures.... and yea... what ever is handy, i use lined paper because is easier to conceal in class because its also in the note book and the teacher may think your taking notes. i do however, carry a sketchbook with me, but i dont bring it out as often, seeing a big bounded book full of white paper would probably catch the teacher's attention... so... yea... the nightmare was odne at a time when it was safe to have a sketchbook out in class... art class! |

Astaroth looks weird... and bulky like Zangief is like eww... I draw in class in front of teacher lol... I was making a portrait of a girl besides me. The teacher didnt notice ANYTHING dammit! I was looking the complete other way... but thats in certain courses... once during a study period my freaky french teacher said I shud organise something to decorate the class... shes freakY! But don't draw too much in class... you miss alot of stuff... unless u got a friend willing to copy for u or sumthing :). I like ur DSA designs very cool but they look like airplane pilots more than soldiers... but the masks are cool. |
