Incinerate... any get it to work moded?

Okay, I have a tower based off of a hero. It has a ranged attack. When I give it the incinerate skill it turn damage to 0, but for some reason the units still explode on occasion. I know this has been a problem skill, so I thought I would try to find out what people have done if they were able to get it working in game.

try giving it .00000001 damage

Okay, maybe that was unclear.... It is ranged, but it still gets the 0 damage bug instead of adding like normal (it's not that I wanted it to be 0), the fact units still blow up occasionally just made it even weirder.

I've got the same problem in the ever-so-wonderful Aeon of Lag. Something strange is happening. I put the default firelord with default abilities in the map, and his damage was 0. Sometimes, it works and it will do the correct amount of damage (even counting previous hits for 0 towards the new damage), and on death the unit DOES explode.

I put in a damage testing unit to see what it does, and there are two 'hits' apparently inside this ability- the ability damage and the default damage of 0. Every time an enemy unit is hit with an attack with incinerate, it is hit for X and 0. X is the ever-increasing amount. When you see the damage go to 0, it seemingly 'forgets' to do the X damage.

Ive had this problem aswell..

Basically, when my hero learns this ability, he attacks but deals 0 damage.
Say he does 10-10 before learning. When he learns it, he deals 0 damage but it still displays 10-10.. the thing is, the ability works perfectly. (I.E. when the unit dies when they were hit by the ability, they explode). This is a wierd problem i just cant seem to fix... hmmm...
