OK, time for a new map I said today... so I brainstormed... what games do I like to play... Bladurs Gate, Champions of Norrath, Fable... hmm Then I decided I'm going to make a game where you basically are a mercenary for hire. Map Info: You start off in a large town {you can get to other towns} and anybody who need help in town will offer you a job, anyhting from cleanse this cave full of trolls, or give this letter to this person, a very wide variety of quests, and I plan on making 60+ quests. Players: Undecided About me: I am pretty good with the editor. I can make allmost all of the need things, what I need help with is listed below. I have worked on a lot of maps over the years, but they were all single player and just for me, I now want to do something that could be a bigtime multiplayer bnet success. Any help is greatly appreciated as I know I cannot do this alone. Needs: - Terrainer (Someone who can make the map look good) - Spell Ideas (I'm pretty good at making spells, but may require help on challenging spells as I do not use JASS) - Skinner/Modeler (I don't ask for much maybe just 2 or 3 little things) - Cinematics (This is my WEAK spot I cannot do cinematics at all) If anyone is interested please get ahold of me on MSN Messenger ([email protected]) I am on their the most, but heres my AIM (Shaman of Doom) and YIM (chytil10), I am usually only on MSN though. I will check here too. |

This does get tried a lot. MASSIVE RPG, YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE AND GONNA BE SO MUCH TO DO, We've all seen it and they end up in the recycling bin like 8 days later. But it's not impossible. 60+ quests might be too big. I think you could only fit about 20 in a 256x256, map. Also Can you share more about what kind of abilities, screen shots, ideas? |

reuse the same land, escort quests, aos battle style quests, defend against the attackers, get to this point before this person, different spawn triggers for baddies depending on average lvl of all active players, believe Ive put too much thought in it to quit, if it doesnt work for a orpg, then I will make it a campagin, each map being a different city with a different set of quests, this either way will take 9-15 months to complete, and I WILL NOT quit on this, I have never not finished a map, If im flustered I will take a few weeks off then get back into it. |

Hmm... Well if you INSIST! I have a couple requests that I Myself have always always always wanted to see in only the best RPG. The size of you hero depends on you strength. If you hero has say 15 strength then he is slightly larger than the hero next to him with 4 strength. The more evil things you do, the more your heros appearance will change. (Extra Aura, or turning different Tints) Not Assigned Spells. Assigned spells suck cock. Every hero should have the open chance to grab the spells he feels are essential to his hero. Distributed stat points, Use lumber as "Stat Points" Everytime you level instead of ganing a set amount of str, agil, int, you get 5 lumber nad are taken to a place to trade lumber for stat points. These are extremely large Ideas and could kill the length of your save/load code As I said, these ideas are for the "Best Open RPG" |

Consider your requests considered BTW you describe Fable thoroughly, if you havent played it, play it, it rox |

Updates: Gameplay: -Start out in the capital city Bowerstow with your selected hero (listed below) -Random quests from cityfolk -It is now ORPG style -Players (undecided we think 5 should be plenty enough) Quests: Vary from: -AoS style battles -Escort missions -Bounty hunts -Capturing -Killing Contests -Stealth (B&E, Undectetion, etc.) -Being a message boy -Many Many More Heroes: -Barbarian -Cavalry -Cleric -Elementalist -Fighter -Huntress -Knight -Mage -Monk -Ninja -Paladin -Ranger -Spearman -Summoner -Thief -Warrior -(May add Druid) Other Stuff: -Custom Spells -Custom Models (some) -Custom Icons -(May add a fame stat) Progress is steady and smooth The team still wants more ideas to make this the best ORPG ever |
