Well, my first thread in this forum will be the one about my map that is currently under construction. my questions are at the bottom of the post. ¤What is the map? A map based of Aeon games like Aeon of 6 gods, DotA, ToB, AoS GT and such stuff. ¤What's so special about the map? the gameplay that has a focus on quests, bombastic heroes and a good-looking terrain(in my opinion) ¤What's the background of the map? It is based off the final NE mission in RoC, the siege of the World tree. With the difference that both sides can win. ¤Some information about the map? The map is actually 554 kbytes huge, which will raise to maybe up to 600 at the first beta test dates. Map size: 160x224 players: up to 5 on 5 heroes: 24 ¤What about the sides, and the heroes? There are two sides, the allied forces of Nightelves, Humans and Orcs, and the invader side with Demons, Undead and Damned (the last one are my invention) Each of the 6 forces has its own base. While the demon and nightelve bases are the target bases to destroy, the undead/human bases are the biggest ones that send out spawns to 2 sides instead of one. spawn routes: undead send to orcs and to human demon switch between orcs and human damned to human humans send to damned and undead orcs send to undead nightelves switch between damned and undead That means there are 3 battlefields, and all ways lead to the enemy main base, which is the one that is heaviest defended. Each base is defended by a single well-known hero, like Jaina or Thrall. The spawntroops are totally different, which means that also the stats of the units variate, which is far away from the mirror strength of spawns in other Aeon-maps. The heroes are chosen by klicking, each side has 4 heroes, which means 24 in total. They are totally different from each other, and most of them have at least 2-4 trigger spells. ¤What was that with the quests? Each side has some quests. There is a main quest, which means the destroying of the enemy main base. And, within time, other optional quests appear in the quest log, which is not divided in optional and main quets, but "allies quests" and "invaders quests". For example: an optional human quest activated after 10 minutes. jaina walks to a summoning ruin south of the human base, and channels a teleport spell for some minutes. If she survives, strong knights are teleported to the human base, which makes it better defended, and each allied player gets 2 of those knights. If the invaders kill her, she will not revive. its the best time to kill her since she is extremely strong in normal but undefended while channeling. Or a quest where you have to get a potion for a furbolg, who will send you additional spawns to your troops and sells you potions. Or a quest where you have to buy a flame orb, which can cast flamestrikes, and burn through a forest. Those trees, not like other trees, will not ressurect and a faster, safer way to the allied main base is free. ¤whats special about the map design? The map is not symmetric like other aeon maps, it is completely individual, not only because the allied since is on a higher landscape since it is a mountain. There are waterfalls, special areas, creep camps and so on, and locations for quests. Many ways lead through the forests, and each base has its own style (imagine the crystal hill of the demons, or the rock planes of the undead) ¤And the items? over 30 important items, lots of upgrades and tomes wait for your gold. (note: none of these are imbalanced, not even tomes. They are not too cheap and have a stock maximum of 2) They all give an edge to the game. ¤Hero template Hero level: 18 Each hero has a static name (for better identification) and the following skill build: 3 skills that can be leveled up to level 5, 1 2-level ultimate and a 1-level skill that is available at higher levels. most heroes have 2 or more trigger spells, which are not made for complexivity (or whatever) but for gameplay. It would take too long to describe all 24 heroes, but now the status comes: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX In the time of my work, the heroes have changed rapidly, and at least i have to replace a last boring hero. I need your ideas for a nightelve hero! demonhunter, malfurion and kotg are already in use. Please tell me your ideas, everything is possible! (well, almost everything) and i want a special night/day cycle thing, but i have no idea what. Help again. The map needs some quests and most of the tooltips, and that last hero to be finished. The balancing may be in a miserable state, but i will make lots of betatests in northrend. (i am from austria) At least, i will upload dozens of screenshots, the only ones that are online are too old to be mentioned. As i said, please give me a nightelve hero idea and an idea what should happen in the day/night cycle. Amen. |
