Sacrificial Pits- changing unit produced.

I am trying to figure out how the sacrficial pit ability "sacrifice" works. It produces a shade when offered an Alcolyte. i've managed to change the unit requirement, but i havn't managed to change the resulting unit from shade to something else.

How can i do this? I'd like to do it without triggers if i could. I was checking all through sacrifice ability under the Abilities tab in the Objects' manager and havnt found anything about the unit produced. i don't notice anything in the buffs/effects tab.

I only want to play with triggers on this issue as a very last result.

thanks in advance for any help you may give.

I noticed this too, while poking about. Maybe if you go modify the existing Shade unit to use as your "new" unit.

well, i've thought of that, but then what if wanted to produce a variety of units using this ability? i'd be confined to just one unit using the sacrifice ability.. that unit being the modified shade.

i'd just like to get my hands on whatever controls what is produced.. then i could make as many of that as i chose when the conditions were met. and without using triggers.

This has been thrown about a bit over the ages. Ultimately, a certain aspect of the Sacrifice ability just seems to be hardcoded. If you want to make multiple versions, triggering it will be the only consistant way to do it. A trigger for something like this should not be particularly difficult.
