Hey, for a long time i've had this idea about a good online bnet map with Pokémon. One day i saw my younger brother playing pokemonworld or whatever it's called, and i thought that it wasn't good enough. So i started a pokémon map of my own, to see if i could make a map the way i thought it should be with the same stuff you see in the first gameboy game. So here we are! I know that many people hate Pokémon a lot, and i'm no big fan boy myself, but still i remember spending a lot of time on the gameboy game and enjoying it a lot. So my goal is, if you liked the game boy game, you should like this too. If you didn't like the gameboy game, you probably wont like this either. With that said, i'll list some features. All written with red is not certain yet: Custom Models Lan version only for less lag and filesize (Not certain, 'cause im not too good at modeling, but i can do some of the stuff + skinning) You can battle other players Custom abilities (attacks for pokémons.) Custom backpack (i'm experimenting with the best solution.) Pokémons gain levels and new attacks. You can create parties with other players to share exp. You can catch wild pokémons with pokeballs. Pokecenters with healing (not like a well of life.) Prof. Oak gives you a starting pokémon (Bulbasaur, Squirtle or Charmander.) You can read signs. You can talk to every NPC in the map. You can fish pokémons You can do quests for NPC's to get money, pokémons, items etc. Custom items - the ones in the gameboy game, but not all of them. Well thats pretty much it for now. I'm sure i'll think some others up along the way. The screenies are a couple of weeks old from a very very early stage, so i have added much more, but most of my work is trigger work (as you can see on the minimap ;)) Actually they only show most of pallet town... Ok then, please post feedback! And sorry if this post has bad grammar or something like that, i'm not too good at english. |

Well, IF you make it, just be sure to write "pokémon", not "pokémons". Little corrections like that make a good map great. |

and also, this kind of map has been tried before, i think, but i am interested to see how this one goes along, cause the other one was pretty good, but its "good game" streak ended quickly. EDIT: i think it was called pokemon arena, or something like that. |

I hate pokemon but I like the idea of training something to fight. Good Luck. |

If you havent as yet, take a look at |)arkOne's HeroRPG. It already has reading signs and talking to people, as well as a menu and keyboard movement. I advise just asking him for permission to use his triggers and giving him credit. It saves you fromwork that you already would have to go through. |

Well thanks to all for the feedback. As for now this is a solo project, but i'll check the HeroRPG out. I will need some help with the abilities i think, so what i need the most is a 'Jasser' and a modeller. Edit: Well i just tried to open the HeroRPG map, but it gives me some error |

cool map i think you should make a spell however called duel and when it targets another trainer a dialog box pops up saying do you wish to except this challenge ;) please give credit if you do decide to use this idea |

Well i thought of that some time ago, but it will not be a spell. You right click the other players trainer, and a player menu shows where you can see stats and challenge and (maybe) trade pokémons |

You need to use UMSWE or WEU to open HeroRPG. |

I just tried UMSWE. It cant even see the file in my directory, and tried to open it with in other ways but it dont load the map. (not even an error) |

You do realise that HeroRPG is a campaign and needs to be opened through the campaign editor (f7) right? You cant see it with the other maps because its not a map. Once you open it in the campaign editor then you will be able to open the maps in it. If thats not the problem then I have no clue. |

Well thanks for the help i got it working. But when i look at HeroRPG's code for talking and reading signs its just a lot of (if units is in range of other unit) stuff, so it would be a big trigger if i would use the same system since i intend to make at least 60 - 70 % of the NPC's talking. Well i'll think about it! |
