This is my entry for a terraining competition. This is all still a w.i.p. so I am open to any ideas. Hers some backround on the lab. The Goblins have long been victims of war and chaos due to the warring of the larger races. They retreated to safty of the ground and tunneled out a large cavern where they built their capital city. In this expansive city they have found new ways of defending themselves. Within the city is a smaller cave where they study a different type of science. In this cave they expierment with thier inginuity in the field of genetics. The goblins have fused dna together, creating large monstrous beats. They birth these creatures by use of eggs. The eggs are supplied with nutrients by large underground vines. They also make thier creations more powerful by zapping them with electric jolts constantly during the incubation period. In this labratory where the creatures are inccubated and created there is a large garden of overgrown mushrooms. These muchrooms spores are a key indgriedient in the creation and inccubation of the creatures, thus the need to have it in the same cave as the inccubating egges. In addition to the spores the goblins require a highly toxic, chemical liquid that they supply themselves with by use of a river flowing into thier labratory. The goblins record the progress of each egg's creation, inccubation, and hatching in books. These books are kept in the library for future needs. ![]() Ok here are the pics. Sorry for huge resolution. |

clever trick, i was wondering how you did that. i like this take on goblins, much more lotr style however, i dont like those mushrooms, INO i dont like how bright they are and the way the contrast too much with the surounding pipes, id suggest playing around with tinting to get them darker, but appart from that, very nice ![]() |

Good Idea, illl try the mushroom tinting. I don't like the color either because I was aiming for a darker type of cave with a glowing green river in it, but th shrooms kinda ruinded the effect because it look s like a winter wonderland in the middle of it all. |

The screenshots are good-looking indeed. I'd suggest to add something to help blend in around the rocks/shrooms, as they seem to pop up from the sqiare tile, which doesn't make sense. Maybe add a cave entrance in that space in the middle (between the pipes) and even some ruined cliffs here and there to tear apart that nasty feeling that standard cliffs create. |

Ok here are some ss from a new area I made. Sorry I dind't have time to reformat them, or crop them. Ill post some new ones in the moring. Really sorry. Edit: reedited the pics, now croped, and in jpeg format. Sorry I don't like gif pics because the picture quality is greatly reduced. The only reason I put it in gif format in my animated sig is because I can't make a jpeg animation. |
