is there a way to change the unit's chance to miss?

hello guys, I used to know how to use the WE quite well (when i played RoC, then I quit, then after like half an year I started playing again:)), but now I forgot everything.

ANYWAYS, my question is that: is there a way to change a unit's missing chance in the unit editor? without making a trigger/an ability for it?

another question: is there a way to not let units auto-attack? I tried the "worker" thing, but when you attack-move it starts auto attacking. Then I tried the "issued order" unit trigger, but it just closes warcraft

thanks guys

from the looks of object editor no... but you could use like integers idk you should be more specific with exaclty what you want b/c if you want a spell or something that reduces the chance to attack then i could help you out but please clarify what you mean

One way to do it is a custom critical strike abilty with a say 5% chance to do 0x dmg. Thats probably the most effectrive way (Custom curse can be dispeled etc)

btw guys do any of you know a map called "R-Files"? I made that map :P, it was in the RoC ages a long time ago, decent amount of people played it but it died out really fast lol

Try setting the Acquisition Range of the unit to 0.00. That might prevent it from attacking.

Otherwise, I think your solution is in changing the alliance settings so that your enemies are actually neutral to you, and vice versa.

I pretty sure that would do it Panto....
The aqusition range is the range of which it uses auto attacking...
You could always find some sort of WE superGenious who knows how to remove auto attacking altogether but that would be kind of confusing....

Just a note, the critical strike ability displays a red 0 above the head of the user, not a red "Miss"...
hmmmm just thinking of it, if you had no other critical strike abilities you coul always edit the constant to have a MISS for every number (Meaning you'd get 0 as a MISS)

hmmmm.

nope, I already tried the aqusition range, it also shortens the Range all together. So ranged units would be melee now :(
and I do have another skill for critical strike, yea I thought about changing the critical strikes text thingy lol
oh well, I'll figure something out someday o_O

*edit*---v
well this sucks, the critical strike thingy doesn't work either..... it just doesn't work at 0, it works at any other value.
omg this sucks

Then you'll have to give every unit a version of Evasion, I reckon. You might be able to trigger it about a bit so that a unit can have different Evasions for different situations.

If you just want to change the chance of Evasion or Critical Strike, make your own custom abilities... But if you want to change the general chances of missing attacks by EVERY unit, try this:

In WE, go to Advanced -> Gameplay Constants.
Now look for field "Combat - Chance to miss (when moving or higher)". This is the chance of units to miss an attack when target is moving or at higher terrain level. You can also change the damage dealt when "missing" these attacks in the field "Combat - Miss Damage Reduction". I would really use this.

i think that would only work if there is a height difference (enemy higher than shooter) and aswell only on ranged attacks, at least thats the usual way that one works.

pretty much.
Knowing a programm language helps a lot too when it comes to triggers and stuff like it.
