Spell Projectile Art as a Doodad

Hello all,

I am making a map and am currently at my wits end. I am making a custom spell from Hexen, Arc of Death (if you have played Hexen). It is a Shadowstrike base ability. I want the missile art to be the Lightning Trap or Lightning Bolt from the doodads though, and then I will slow down the missile speed so you can see the bolt tracking it's target. However, I can't get this to work - the missile is always invisible. I want the missile (lightning bolt) to not only be visible as it tracks the target, but then to linger on the target after impact, for the duration of the spell. Any help would be appreciated.

Check its' animations. Does it have a birth, stand, and death animation? The duration of your spell cannot be longer than it's stand animation. Maybe you're better off by using the "Monsoon" ability's graphic.

Yes, Monsoon is much better, thank you. I didn't even know that it looked like a lightning bolt (I thought it was the Naga Witch's Tornado spell). Works 100% better now, but the animation is still a little short, is there any way you know of that I could make it longer, without triggers?

I thought that for a while too... untill I had played 'till the end of the Orc campaign, and went like.. "What the HELL is proudmoore using to kill my heroes?"

Not off the top of my head, sorry. Maybe change the Buff of the altered shadowstrike to the same graphic... it'll appear when the missile (with the same graphic), has hit the unit... which means you'll see the lightning bolt last longer.

If it's an object, other than just a spell effect, you ought to be able to change its animation speed with an "Animation" action in a trigger.

Hey.. why noy just use the lighting effect of Lightning instead of the art with a massive arch rate to increase the arch,.... it should last as long as you have the spell going..... there is a way to do this to have exact timing if you want it, but PM or post it here if you wont to know that 1..
