Guest | I've got a little question about the source code of warcraft In which language it's written, which editor i have to use (pls give some links where i can download it) and how can i open and manipulate it??? I've got some exp with basic and c++ and want to give it a try... |

You're in the wrong forum. If you zapp back out to the base forum you'll notice a JASS forum. JASS is what you write when you create maps. To actually modify the engine is something you're not supposed to do but JASS is the next best thing. There's some beginner tuts there too (You may know c++ but syntaxes are always good). |

Guest | yeag jass may be the speech for the editor but i wonder if i could change some other things like improt a own campaign background or some other mainscreen background image... can i do this with jass too? |

You need neither JASS nor hack the engine (you do not believe they released the source code for that, do you) to do that. That is only a matter of importing the right files. |

Look around. The Tutorial section (Found just above the General Development board on the main forum front) has, well, tutorials on most things concerning, well, most anything to do with WC3 editing. Otherwise, the custom campaign screen (Or even a Total Coversion) can be asked about in the modelling forum because I'm 98% sure that's all you need to do and then import it somehow, they would know anyway if you don't find it in the tutsection. |
