Artist of Note discussion thread

I thought it would be nice to discuss the images attached in the thread to really see what the artist intended.

Wes, is a very good artist... I'd like to say that first. This picture tells so much in it alone it's amazing. One thing I picked up after staring at the picture for about an hour is the seemingly pattern like design in the second guys hammer. Which I take it as being how many people he has killed with that hammer. Totally bad ass if you ask me. I love how each character has glasses, and a hammer.

Pictures can be found here : http://www.wc3campaigns.com/showthread.php?t=66344

If I were to make this into a story, I would say... the guy pointing is the main hero who keeps the group in order, then the guy behind him has been a friend all his life. The way he holds his hammer is like, "I want you all to see my hammer" but he's not flaunting it. The chubby guy was assigned to their group, and he's there to spoil their plans. Now the tall skinny guy first appears he would be a bad guy, but actually knows of the chubby guys plans to take the "prize" all on his own and exploits him in the act. I could go on for hours, but I'll leave it at that.... total pawnage....

Hmm... I'll leave the Stickyness up to you.

And when I saw this piece the first time, the thing that struck me was the quality of the emotion that is portrayed on the foreground figure's face.

It's also nice to note the blood spatters on his bandage around his head.

The thing is that I could see this frame translating into either a live-motion movie or into the first cutscene of a Game...

They may just be a group that is traveling through a city on the outskirts of "Judge" territory. I'd see the fat guy as more of a seasoned veteran of the group than a spy.

And Moon... next time just link straight to the thread instead of the pics...

Repost the link each time a new piece is added.

This should work nicely.

they look more like a band of mercinaries to me. if they where anything like palies they would carry some holy symbols and books with them, and would look somehwat more arrogant and 'above' themselves. these dudes look more like a feared nutoriouse mercinary or bandit group or gang, as you can see the people in the background looking at them with shifty eyes and whispering in awe...

what i like about the picture id the amount of datail put into it and the detail in the sading WITHOUT any smoothening done, its basically still all tiny scratches, wich gives it a really raw feeling.

i also like how it fades off the paper by leaving details out and leaving shading out. i like that kind of 'sloppy' style.
