Guest | Ok so Im like brand new at this stuff. I just downloaded the WC Viewer. I also went to w3sear.ch and downloaded the undead arthas model. Now all I want to know is how do I put it into the world editor and use it. Its already a .blp file which I think is the right type of file. So if someone could give me a straight answer as how to put it in the World editor. Please someone Im so confused. |

Guest | OK, i`ll help you. You open the Import Manager (you can open it with F12 too). Then you will have to browse yourself to the file and double click on it or just press open. When you have done that, open the skin`s properties, then check the "Use custom path" And then you paste this: Textures\Arthas.blp into it. Then save, open again, and voila! A brand new evil-looking devious, freezing-his-behind-off Arthas. |

what's the file name of blp? sometimes all you need to do is change the path to the file name +.blp and get rid of wc3importedfile before the file name or just do the folder and file name |

ok heres the theory behind all this: when u put a file into wararcft, if you remove the "wa3imported" part, you can acess that in your map under "imported". You will find your skin can be actually used as in icon but you'll want it as a skin no? fror that, you must basically paste your skin over the exisiting one. to do this, give it the same path as the existing Arthas skin. this has been mentioned above. basically, if you import a black square into the WE and paste it over the arthas skin, you will get a black arthas (Identical to setting the lighting to 0,0,0.) therefore, people have made lists of every thing in warcraft.. more specifically, the entire MPQ. this is very handy as one can simply make a skin the scan through tis document and copy then paste into the import bar... boom done! remember, your skin wont show up in WE untill you close it and restart it... i'd sugest just usint test map to take a look! Try skinning yourself! its great fun! -Garith (Currently skinning a Cenataur Dryad) |
