The stone form ability is actually a morph ability. This means that it morphs a unit from one unit, to another unit then back again. You will have to create a stone form version of your hero dreadlord. If you want to prevent it from using the run animation while in stone form, edit the "Required attachment link names" to read "stand ready" or "spell" depending on how you would like it to look. |

base it off metamorphasis and change morphed unit to the stoned gargoyle or just check off the hero ability box |

What? Metamorph doesn't have the same fields as stone form morph... it has a hp bonus instead of a life regen bonus. Seriously Burnin, get off that crack. By the way dark, the stone form armour bonus comes from the morphed unit's base stats. |

Durr. Change the morphed version of the dreadlord's stats so it has a HP regen bonus on it's own? Problem solved. Still, you CANT base it off of meta, since meta is a timed ability, and this lad wants an ability he can turn on and off. So you must base it off of Storm Crow Form, or Stone Form, instead. I've never based anything off of Stone Form yet though. There's still a problem with using the stone form gargoyle statue as a morphed version, since its' animation will briefly display a standard gargoyle when morphing back. My suggestion? Take Tichondrius's skin, remove it's color (desaturate), add stoney things like little cracks, texture, etc... import it, and use a Tichondrius version of the dreadlord as its' stone form. Give him 0 move speed, and use triggers to stop him from being animated. |

Actually you can make meta morph a permanent on/off spell if you reduce duration to 0.00, I think, could be wrong. |

It becomes permanent, yes, but you can't shut it off unless you make it shut-off-able in the Gameplay Constants. |

Guest | OK Here is what I am saying, I checked off the box of the hero ability, then i make it so that it has 1 level, and so that it requires lvl 6, but when i do this the game gets screwed up completely, and there is no way to change the dreadord back. I would create a stone form model of dreadlord, if i knew how to change .mdx files to .mdl. |

No, you need to do two things. First, create a copy of the dreadlord in it's stone form state. Note that you must copy the dreadlord, not the gargoyle and edit the copied unit. Next, set stone form to transform the unit into this unit you just copied and edited and give both versions of the unit the edited stone form spell. If you don't change the values, you're essentially morphing your hero into a regular gargoyle stone form mode, which... is messy to say the least. |
