Moderators, please note that this topic is not one of those spamming threads. This is a legitimate WC3 Total Conversion and we DO need more team members. This is the only forum I could see on this site that matched the description of what I wanted to do. I pray this is alright.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: PC AND MAC compatible! Mac users, please read the readme for installation instructions.

Well, just in time for Thanksgiving (if you're one of those wacky people who live in Canada like our team leader), it's time once again for us to release another version of our REFmod Total Conversion for WC3: Frozen Throne. Due to difficulties caused by the 1.17 patch, we had to delay this version for some time while we rebuilt the mod from the ground up. However, this time we have some real treats for you guys...updates and changes as follows:

ALL RACES
---------

-New computer AI has been created for all three multiplayer-compatible races, allowing more flexible online games and much better single-play.

-New graphics have been inserted for all Protoculture-related resources (i.e. Protoculture build cost image, Protoculture supply image, Protoculture Deposit minimap marker).

-Upkeep has been reworked so that a player's mineral intake is taxed with the higher upkeeps instead of their protoculture intake.

REF
---

-Due to the structural change in Defend by the 1.17 patch, ECM has been renamed Pinpoint Barrier and now has a constant resistance of 20% to piercing attacks, with a 30% chance of reflecting that damage back on the source in exchange for a 20% reduction in movement speed.

-The Beta Fighter now has Reflex Warheads as well, dealing 300 area of effect damage to enemy air units.

-In order to give the Shadow Fighter better purpose, we have given it a "Destabilizer" ability that deals 300 damage to enemy structures with no mana cost, but a very hefty cooldown.

-The Shadow Cyclone's "Destabilizer" ability has been renamed "Energy Drain."

-Veritech Super VF-1J Valkyrie (Fighter Mode)'s anti-ground weapon has been reduced by 5 damage.

-Medical Officer Healing has been reduced by 10

-There are new complete sound sets for the following units: MAC II Monster Destroid, Veritech Hovertank, Veritech Super VF-1J Valkyrie, REF Soldier, Tomahawk Destroid, and Horizont Transport.

-There are new incomplete sound sets for the following units: Cat's Eye Recon Plane and Spartan Destroid.

-There are new button graphics for the following units: Spartan Destroid, Tomahawk Destroid, Veritech Hovertank (both forms), Veritech Super VF-1J Valkyrie (both forms), Cat's Eye Recon Plane, Gladiator Cannon ability, Pinpoint Barrier ability.

-The advisor's "Your Base is under attack" sound file has been exchanged for something more appropriate to Robotech.

Invid
-----

-There are new button graphics for the following units: The Hellcat Inorganic, the Odeon Inorganic, the Scrimm Inorganic, and the Hellcat's Enhanced Claws upgrade.

-Structure "floors" have been removed.

Masters
-------

-Starting with their Great Hall at Tier 2, the Masters can now "Sacrifice" any player-controlled unit in exchange for 80% of its Protoculture build cost.

-There are new complete sound sets for all units, the Cosmic Harp/Particle Cannon/Missile Tower, the Sacrifice ability, and the Control Module ability.

-New advisor quotes have been inserted for "Your Base is Under Attack," "Summoning is Complete," "Upgrade is Complete."

-There are new button graphics for all units and all abilities but the Gravity Mine and Critical Strike.

-The last of the blight leftover from WC3 has been removed.

-Structure "floors" have been removed.

As you can see, quite a lot was added for this particular version, and the game is now not only ready for multiplayer but single as well, provided we have the maps. However, we're still short of the people we need to finish this mod, and would greatly appreciate the aid of the following:

-Multiplayer map designers (please read the readme included on the site).

-3D Modelers (3D Studio Max required) for the units/structures.

-3D Model Texture Skinners (we need you guys desperately) for the units/structures.

-Particle Effects people (3D Studio Max Required) for the weapons/spells.

If you feel you can help us out, please drop us a line at one of the E-mail addresses included in the readme you'll find on the site (my E-mail is [email protected] if you just want me). The mod itself is at http://www.skullsquadron.com. Well, guys, I hope you enjoy this new completely-1.17 compatible REFmod, and I look forward to seeing you guys online. Please post any suggestions or comments on our forums at http://p217.ezboard.com/bskullsquadron83041 . Also feel free to post any such things here, while the topic lasts.

P.S. I think if we're going to play each other online, we'll need to set up a time and place where we can all meet on Battle.net. If you are interested, please go to our forums and let us know. There we will coordinate our battle.net meeting times.

Ok, how do I post them here? And what is the suitable size? btw, keep in mind that NO CUSTOM MODELS HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED INTO THE MOD YET DUE TO LACK OF SKINNERS, so don't go looking for new models.

Ok, 20 new screenshots have been uploaded at our http://www.skullsquadron.com website in the "REF Public Folder" under "In-Game Screen Pics." Just download them and take a look at them. If that's a problem, just give me the specs for posting them here and I'll reduce the pics to the size and quality that works best for this site. These screenshots are mainly of basic things like the button sets. I could have made 60 shots with alll the units in mortal combat, but that would be a bit much and would have taken forever to get. So just take these shots as tokens of the new graphics, such as they are.

Also note that in that same folder are 2 REFmod-ready multiplayer maps up for download to use on Battle.net until we get more maps.
