Can I skin unit portraits too? Where do I find them? |

Yes, you can skin the portraits. The skin for the portraits it's in the skin of the actual model. To get your skinned portrait working in the game, import the portrait of the skinned model (it's named as the model whith the extention "_Portrait", ex.: Footman_Portrait.mdx.) in your map (before importing it, make sure that you changed the texture path in the .mdl to the texture path of your skin). |

How would I extract it with an extraction program? |

If you're talking about the skin, then I'll give you an example whith WC3 Image Extractor 2: search the skin in the left (either in Textures or in Units), select your skin, left-click on it and choose "save". You can save it in jpg, tga or blp. |

Well, I use a program called MPQ2K. I have to know the path ahead of time, so I have this huge list of all the files in the game which I have to copy and paste into the extractor. It's the only extractor I know of that works for my platform. Earlier you posted a model path in your footman example. What is the skin path blp for unit portraits? Is this even possible? |

The skin I edited was the High Elf Worker skin. The unit portrait doesn't seem to change along with the skin, unlike previous skins I've edited. |

I've found the explaination: the high elf worker's portrait is using the priest's skin! In fact, it's the same portrait as the priest, but without the emitters. So to fix it, extract the portrait, convert it to mdl, change the path to: - either the path you used for the modified high elf worker's skin, if this skin can be correctly used by the portrait,... - ... or to another name, like for instance "Textures\HighElfWorkerPortrait.blp", then edit the priest's skin the way you want it to be and import it + the modified portrait with the specified path. I hope it's not too confused. |

Ooooooh I see. Luckily the the Priest skin won't be needed in my map either. Thanks dude. |
