Call to Arms: A Footman's War - Staff needed

If you have not already seen my map in production currently, here is a link to my information thread. That outlines the general goals for the first public version (1.0.0). As for what's needed, here is a small list (in order of use):
  • Tooltip/info crafter - Basically covers the writing of such areas in the map such as tooltips, help dialogs, etc. Although I'm decent at essay's and such, I'm not much in the imagination area, espeically when it comes to items such as this.
  • Night Elf Specialist - Someone who knows enough about Night Elves to create some of the less obvious units (such as melee )
  • Item Creator - Although I have a good deal of items created as it is, I basically suck at creating perishable items.
  • Icon Designer - This isn't anything major, but a few icons for abilities and some units would add to the map emmensly.
  • Basic Modler - Someone who can do some basic modelling such as geoset merging if needed.

Ofcourse, you will get full credit, either on the (possibly included, depending how small I can squeeze it down) splash screen, opening message (a message displayed at the start of the game), or the information menu (quests)-- depending upon your position.

Also, when we reach an alpha stage, we will need some testers for the closed alpha (beta will be open). If you wish to discuss anything about the map, feel free to contact me with the info in my profile, or post here. Once I near the alpha, I plan to apply to become a hosted project. Hopefully, with some help, I will beable to finish this faster, and with greater quality!

Ok, for Night Elf melee use the Sentry model. Works great. As for your team, I may be able to do some skins or icons, just tell me what you need. I will post the icons/skins on this website, not e-mailing back and forth. I also require a name "FLUFF" in the credits area of your map/campaign, and give me some rep. if you like my work.

FLUFF, I said whoever helps will get full credit. I'd be interested in having you as a team member, and posibly also the person designing Night Elfs (I never was a big fan of them, for some reason; I just seem to suck as them). I'll contact you on AIM, or a similar network for some details; so I don't clutter this thread.

EDIT: Could you either PM me, or post some contact info? There's no need to post a discussion here, and go offtopic

Chipmunk, as I mentioned, I don't need any major models right now, but there are a few small things I need for items. Here are a few, if you can get started on them, I'd really appeciate it!
  • Sword
  • Sheild
  • Potion
  • Something that sort of looks like a powerup you would collect in a platforming game (I'm not a big fan of using runes).

All these should be the same size as the current item models (treasure chest, etc), and have the same style/effect (perhaps spinning or glowing?). Thanks a ton!

Thats great! The only thing that should be changed to make it look like an item you can pick up is:
  • Could you add a sorta glow cloud thing under it like the tomes
  • Lower it abit and tilt it at about a 45 degree angle to the ground
  • Perhaps make it spin or something?
I'd really appreciate if you could do this! Right now, there are too many items to use 1 model for, and frankly; the standard WC item models suck for weapons and armor.

I'd do the tooltips and such for you, if you still need help on that. I could also help you alpha test if need be. I might be able to make some Night Elf units but I really doubt it. My top choice of the available choices would certainly be the tooltip/info crafter. My main expertise is terraining but you most likely don't need a terrainer since they are so easy to come by now a days and that is useally the first step in most peoples process of map making. I'm JetPack314 on AIM if you need to contact me.

@FLUFF: Great, I wasnt sure I wanted it spinning anyway
@JetPack: Thank god, I'm about to loose it doing any more tooltips :P

EDIT Contacted JetPack, and he should be ready to start doing tooltips in a few days.

I suppose I'll just post the unit descriptions here.....

Swordsman:
The backbone of the Alliance, the swordsman is matched in melee only by the High elven guards. Due to his weapon he is extremely vulnerable to air.

Archer: Firing arrows from afar, the archer kills her enemies with deadly precision and speed. She has very little armor, and is thus vulnerable to melee attacks.

Javelin thrower: Hurling javelins at his enemies, the thrower can easily take down the average melee unit.

High Elven guard: The elite melee unit for the Alliance. The High elven guard can tear his enemy's limb from limb without breaking a sweat. Like the Swordsman he is very vulnerable to air.

Marksman:
With the invention of gunpowder came the marksman. Skilled in using firearms, the marksman has dedicated his life to destroying all enemies of the Alliance.

High Priest: Casting large magic attacks at his enemies, the High priest is a serious threat to all enemies around him.

Sorceress: With the ability to float, the sorceress no longer has to concentrate on walking, and thus can concentrate more on her magic, and doing things normal mortals can not. Unfortunately she can't wear very much armor while casting, and is very vulnerable to attacks.

Chaplain: I wasn't really sure about him, so I don't have a description for him, sorry.

Thats all you sent me, so if you want me to do more send me some more, if not thats fine.

Very well done! I can't stand writing decent descriptions for this many objects.

Very good. Except with the sorceress, it probably take more energy to float than walk.

When I learn to float, Ill get back to you ;). I gave him some weapon desc's to work on.
