Legends of Terrain

So who do you think are worthy to be considered "legends" if you will in terrain? People who have created some groundbreaking terrain and pioneered techniques? Personally I think daemonkillars definately one of these people, what with his terrain made especially for the aesthetics.

Let's hear your thoughts.

[Death]
DK (DaemonKillar), KDEWolf, Iron_Ian, Zurg, Gitlich, etc etc.

Pheonix_VII, Beam, reinless, Murcielago), I guess.

I'm tired, so I forget people.

legend? thats tough word to live up to. there are a lot of people around who i could mention. btu the ones that stick in my mind the most are the terrainers i remember from when i was a newb. beam and pheoVII of course, and a lot of people from TMG such as [Death] and terrainer 666 (the devils blade). pheoVI was someone who used to post a lot more terrain back then, ive always remembered his terrain. murcs another one who used to post a lot when i was new. then there are te terrainers ive noticed more recently. map.med guy. reinless (even though he wont admit it). the art gallery has also been a good place to find good terrainers who dont post in the terrain forum regulary such as d00k

DaemonKillar is the one that got my interest up for this and that makes him a legend for me, Guess I could say DaKaN here to. He havent uploaded mnay screenshoots but still he menaged to get my interest up.

Anyway, Legends dont matter. Its the new guys with creative ideas that does.

yea.. while some ppl have been able to produce beautiful terrain.. no one has really been able to produce anything new and innovative like DK has... but id have to say, the best ive seen lately is either pheonix, or beam

DungeonM
I remember phoenix he did some awsome terrain when I was a noob but now that I look at some of his recent stuff it just dosen't compare to what it looked like back then.

I don't know much about daemonkiller's terrain anyone have a link?

Daemonkiller is definetly one of the best. Recently, yes, I would say Beam or Gitlitch maybe...Or hmmm...DungeonM and Murcielago)....Everyone is great in my opinion. And maybe me? Not a legend...but I'm not bad :\

i dunno any of daemonkiller's work (blushes) but i'll try to look for some now
the persons that really made me wanna terrain back then when i knew nothing about wc3 modding were :

- PheoniX_VII when i saw cinematic tri-x
- Beam when i saw his Tree Village
- Gitlich's Orc City

... not necessarily in that order... in fact i don't think there IS an order

Agreed, I started modding war3 when I saw CotN. He's the only real legend for me cause I never got into 'posting' with him or chatting with him or however.
An other guys I admire are

- Pheonix (I like both :))
- Terrainer666
- Beam
- Reinless

There are still many guys that have the skills for it but I right now can't remember them or they aren't at wc3c.

Well.. I'm not that ancient in Wc3c so I'd say Git, Murcie.. and yeah Pheo..

Daemonkiller didn't make very BEAUTIFULL terrain, but more INNOVATIVE and HANDY terrain i'd say. think of the cave with the boulder rolling in the last part for example, and the rising water. that's all terrain that's handy, i mean lot's of stuff can be done with that. i don't think his terrain was very beautifull, exept for some points. don't laugh, but the part where the archer and wizard (forgot names) came out of the cave where their comrades died really made me cry. There is actually only 1 thing from a person that i remember since i've saw it:

Beam's tree village.

This was one of the first "real" terrains i saw and i still like it.

There aren't good terrain, it is nothing but vague illusions of broken minds.
