Guest | This is my first skin. It is based of the Bandit and as you can see, still a WIP. I'd like ideas for adding some other stuff, and mostly, help for the shirt which I'm not satisfied with. No recolour anywhere. And the only CnP is the face. I tried doing one, but since I use a mouse to draw, it looked awful. Please CnC. I really want to improve. |

i like the skin.. but it's kind of sad to know that the face is CnP when the face is actually the best.. lol. you should change the texture on the shield.. it looks almost..... furry. you could also give more definition to the armor. overall.. not too shabby for your first skin. |

Guest | Something should be done about the legs. To differentiate it further. It's looking good so far, just got to make him more different. I suggest adding bones and fur. |

Guest | Thanks for the advices. I'll try and "furrify" the pants and make the shield look more like wood. For the face, I'll try something although I can't promise anything. I'm really bad at drawing with the mouse. And I know CnP is frowned upon, which is why I specified that the face was CnPed. Otherwise some people would have claimed that I stole it and that I'm trying to get credits for it. Expect some updates. |

Guest | I looked at your skin closely compared to the original next to it and it seems that the only actual work you did was on the sheild. The face in CnP, and the rest of the skin is just a darker version of the original, like all you did was burn it all slightly to try to make it look different. It looks nice yes, but it's not really anything specail considering that it really probably took five to ten minutes to make. |

Guest | The Drifter - The pants, I did not do anything to. Hence the name "Orc Spearman - WIP" (as in Work In Progress). I didn't change the pants thus far because of lack of inspiration. I plan to work on them later today to add some fur on them and some other leather pieces. The shield was changed as you noticed. I used some photoshop effects, and even though they look great in the tga. They don't look that 'woody' ingame. As NakedGuy pointed out. The rest of the skin, is different from the original. Look at the shirt, the belt, the shoulder pads, the knee pads, and the arms of the original bandit. Than look at mine, if you say that all I did was to burn it slightly. Then you are probably blind. You are right about the CnP, as everyone noticed. And I don't recall once, asking people to praise me for the face. I did specify it was CnP, if I had wanted praises for it, I wouldn't have said it. And even though I haven't uploaded the newest version. I have given him a beard and some other details on his face. And no, it didn't take five to ten minutes to do. |

Ok.. thats a given.. this is great for a first skin... but in all honesty.. i would think higher of you is you gave him a stretched flubber for a face then if u CnP'd... its not about getting credit (or a lack of it) its more that you DID it, and that just wrecks a skin. skinners do it for Honor or fun. CnP just wrecks both of that..... ok.. mabye nor fun.. but its very bad.. just dont do it kids! other than that.. good... change stuff... make a face.. its not actually as hard as you'd think to make a face. I.E: if you get viewer and draw points on his face, then see what one his eyes, mouth corners are etc. then base your skin off that, you'll end up geting the layout of the model face on your skin so it looks smooth. just build up details.. the nose needs only be a bit of color burn etc.. youll get better eventually. just do it a few times and you'll be suprised at how naturally it comes. good luck! DONT CNP! remember, the face is the most important part! -Garith |
