return to base for healing?

Hi,

I tried out 2.40 last night. Seems pretty good so far :)

I like the tweaks you've done to Human Barracks Mix (eg upping defend priority, reducing food allocated to footmen/rifles in tier 1), saves me doing them on my copy

I played a 1v1 against an ORC last night and it was a push over because he didn't heal his army very well.

At the 5 minute mark he bought a healing salve and used it (on his spirit wolves which disappeared unfortunately) then went creeping. He crept 3 more camps without his hero returning to base.

At the 9 minute mark I ran into his army. He had 4 half dead grunts with his hero, and 6 critically wounded grunts standing around his town hall.

The game was decided by the 9 and a half minute mark.

1) Would it be possible to make the hero return to base instead of creeping if he has a certain amount of units awaiting healing? I agree that the AMAI is better now that heroes don't return to their base after every creep camp, but they should still return if there are enough units waiting for healing. (Especially if there are more units awaiting healing than there are with the hero!)

2) Long shot, but is it possible to prevent healing salves from being wasted on summoned units? Or is the choice of targets hardcoded in the Blizzard AI?

Thanks in advance for your time!

both problems could be solved with planed improvements of the healing functions, however I don't think we can stop the hardcoded AI from using the salve on summoned units and such stpid things, even if it must be rare since I have never seen it use it on the summons when I watched orc, only been used on the grunts in most cases, but your right it should use it more often on them. maybe turning up priority for buying more salve is a temporarly solution making the hero always go bac to base and see to it that there is 1 or 2 salves in inventory to be used at grunts if they get hurt.
