well... if you want to dl a skinning program you can only find trial versions or messed up programs that dont have half the power of photoshop or paint shop pro. there are ways to get this kind of software free but its illegal. if you want to dl it you have to dl 179 MB. it doesnt come any lower. |

man, why does all the cool things i could do have to be so confusing and space-taking. i surely don't want to break the law nor pay money, cause im a cheap little urchin. i did see 3ds max fer 109 MB but the help files where 180 MB, which is somewhat ironic, so if i dled 3ds max could i get some help ASAP before the trial expires. PLZ PLZ PLZ help me! |

there are a lot of tutorial on this site. check them out. btw does the trial version allows you to save? most trials dont have a save option :/ but you wanted to skin or not. 3ds max is for moddeling and photoshop and psp is for skinning. |

well now i have made a skin and such how do i apply it to a model? |
| 10-21-2004, 10:48 PM | #9 |
depends on the skin. when you vonvert a skin (blp) to a tga file, you see a path. example: footman's path is textures\footman. rifleman's path is units\human\rifleman\rifleman. depends on the model. im noy going to write the whole story again so heres a link, i answered the questions there. http://www.wc3campaigns.com/showthread.php?t=67042 |

this is so confusing, you see i only have a skin what's this about a model? i have just a skin no model how do i do this all? i mean straight fomr the beginning, tools, putting skin on model EVERYTHING! |

just like in the link. when you have imported the skins, change the path of your skin. it helps if you tell me wich unit you used. |

Ok give us a numbered list of eveything you have done, starting with loading up your computer and setting your mind to skin. I will then help you |

well i've made progress so i'll tell you where im at now, i have the .blp skin and the .mdx model now i want ot know how to put the skin on the model. EDIT: im using the rifleman model. |

when you have imported the skin, doubleclick on on it, disable the option and change the path to units\human\rifleman\rifleman the second rifleman can be anything, its just how you named the file. you have just pasted the skin over the the original skin. now save your map and close it. reopen it and your done. |
