Guest | I am a pretty good modeller, but i can't get more than one texture on one model, like I'll have alot of objects textured in my GMax scene with more than one texture file like one is wood but the other one is stone but everytime I export it (with dex script) I am assigning textures to the model in notepad when I realise there is only one texture there, it says: Textures 1 then it says stuff like bitmap and a whole lot of other crap. What am i doing wrong? |

i think what you have to do is add more lines. like Texture 2 below it or something like that. heres what i do: look at existing mdl files from units with multiple textures. and see what the format is like. maybe that would help. let me know if you make any progress. -flames' |

Guest | I've tried that before but it doesn't work because how would the program know where to put the second texture? |

ohhh....you have to incude the blp of the texture (the same one you entered in the Textures2 thing) in the folder of the path. for example, if you put in your 2nd texture in the mdl as "Textures\your_texture_here.blp" you need to create a folder inside the folder you made for the model, call it "Textures" and put your_texture_here.blp in it. i think thats what you mean.... hope it helped. -flames' |

Guest | No what i mean't was how would warcraft III know how to arrange the texture on the model if you added it in notepad? |

oh...you have to convert it back to mdx and re-import. |

Guest | okay let me just start over again, I make a model, i texture it using more than one bitmap on different objects in the scene then i export it using dex script i look in the mdl file where you type in the file name and it says there is only one texture, is my version of dex script screwed up or whats the deal? |
