fatal error before map even starts

I get a fatal error as soon as i click to create the game and open up the pre-game area (with chatting and picking what force you're on and all.) i get the same error when i try to test the map. i have no clue what the problem is. I've tried undoing everything that ive done today but that didnt help. i didnt do anything to any triggers and i just added some abilities and buffs. the error is something about the memory not being able to be read.

a thing
1.If the map is protected, use a different protection.
2.Make sure you're not trying to refer to things that don't exist at map int.

hmm i dont have a lot of models, only about uh.. i think 2.. but i have like a million icons. before u get rid of em, go into winMPQ or something and save all of the models in a file, so if that doesnt fix it you can just reimport the file. i dont think thats prob tho cause i havent imported nething new lateley.
edit: heh.. luckily a friend had a really recent version of my map so i just started again from there. i have no clue what caused the error cause i didnt do anything different.

Your not alone, it crashes on me as well. It wont even play TFT either. It sometimes will play for a minute and then crash, OR crash during game load. I tested Tropico (a totally diff game) to see if it was hardware. Tropico worked fine. I seriously believe its a Blizz screw up somewhere. However when I uninstalled and reinstalled WITHOUT the updates it still didnt work.

heh, well when i was working on my recovered version i accidenty wrote out an integer in jass as 'Axxx" with a double quote on the end. i would think it would give me a syntax error, but it was same type of fatal error before the map loads. so check out youre code, especialy any jass.

Affraid not, 500 megs of RDRAM and 1.3ghz should be enough for WC3, unless your saying WC3 is a pos game that needs way too many resources.

Newp, installed the newest version... installed newest drivers. Its actually not just me, found tons of forums with people who seem to have the same problem. Sadly no answer.

Its probably your video card. My sister's comp has a similar prob. Post your vid card specs, and check Blizz's compatablilty list.
