Problem with UV wrapping

Well, i was trying to make a troll batrider that could use creep troll skins for the rider. I cut out the rider and edited his UV wrap to fit Troll Berserker skin, which is basically a recolored creep troll, then did the same in another version, only deleting the rider instead of the bat. I then geomerged the rewrapped rider to the bat. I looked it over in veiwer, then used animation transfer to give it normal batrider anims. But it didn't work. So i have two questions.
A- Can you animate geomerged parts
B- Can you split the UV wrapping for a geoset into two skins.

The only problem with my UV wrap was the eyes, which are visibly out of place.
And any other potential solutions would help.

A. Yes. Post more specifically what you want and I can probably help you. It can be tedious.
B. No. You have to make them use different textures.

What you might want to do is...
- Duplicate the geoset that has the rider in it. (Two identical copies now.)
- In one of them delete the bat.
- In the other, delete the rider.
- Change the materials around so the rider geoset uses the new texture you want.

Just use geoset merging. You can then just copy and paste the matries and VertexGroups from the original to the new so that they're exact duplicates.

ok, thanks!
is there a quicker way than writing down the matrices then using add matrix? otherwise, this will take a long time...
