When I use the action 'Play Amination' using string such as 'spell', 'stand ready', 'stand ready', there is no problem. However, when the string contain number, e.g. 'stand - 1', the action never gives the specific stand animation I wanted. I tried using 'stand 1', 'stand one' instead but none seem to work. Anyone know why this happens? Any solution? Thanks in advance! |

i had this problem as well and i also asked the forum for help... sadly it seems like there is no way to play a certain variation of an animation... I have one Idea but i didn't try if it works: create a spell that doesnt do anything and set the animation name you want for that spell. using your trigger add the spell to the unit and make it cast it. than remove the spell once its cast with annother trigger. as i have said i didn't try that but perhaps it works. :\ |

It's not a bug, you just can't make a unit play a specific animation variation. The best you can do is make it player an animation with a specified rarity, but that is usually only 50% accurate. |

If you're willing to sacrifice space and you really want it, export the model and change the animation labels. That way you can make it a completely different animation. If you really really want to sacrifice for it. |

actually, i was thinking about that.. but the game looks for Stand to play when the unit is standing. so it you changed it to like Anim1 it wouldnt know when to play it. |

well than you have to make an equal copy of the model just with your custom animations AND keep the normal one in game. when you need the animation hide the normal one, create the one with your anymations , play the animation, remove it and show the normal one again. that would work in a cinematic but would look bad if you have controle over the unit while the animation is playing. ![]() |

Or you could make a complete copy of the animation you wanted and change the copy to a custom label, that way when the game wanted it, it would find it under stand, but when you want it, you could find it under MyAnim1. Or something. |

Hmm.. Unfortunately the stand/attack animations with numbers behind them are considered "rarities". There would be no way you could play those animations directly using the tools that Blizzard supplies you. You're gonna need to do some outside editting. |

Did you read the thread even? That's kind of what we've been saying. |

the only way to do this is to have another custom model that only has 1 stand animation, the one you want. |
