Okay I need a partner that meets the following criteria ... has more free time then me, wants to make either fantasy or historical empire building wc3 maps has original thinking can cooperate and doesn't want everything his/her way and is patient. If you meet all of this criteria please post here stating that you want to help us make maps. My AIM is Peaceilluminati. I have somewhat of an idea for a map already. |

You need someone that is going to meet every single criteria below. But what of yourself? What are YOUR skills? What can YOU do? No one is going to join you if they don't have the foggiest idea what you can do. Quote:
In other words, your poor partner is going to do all the work, while you sit back and watch... Quote:
You really should describe what you want a bit more here. For what are you going to need this? A map? What kind of map? Quote:
What's your original thinking like? Quote:
So you want your partner to agree with all your decisions? Quote:
For what? Quote:
What kind of map? Description please... |

I can UI trigger well. I understand variables and little about arrays and can use them in my triggers. I can also object edit and terrain where it looks pretty but I don't have the patience for terraining Quote:
No, I can probably edit WC3 20-40 hours the next three weeks. But after that maybe only 2-8 hours. This is why I need a partner fast. Quote:
Have you ever play Fall of Rome/Fall of China/Rise of China/ Shadows of the Confederacy/Europa/ Total War (the wc3 map based on MTW) even my Phantasia Empires? Those are the maps I want to make except with a major gameplay change. Basically in those maps you capture cities and resources which automatically give you gold and lumber and food every turn. There are usually many races with vast amounts of unit choices and good combat systems. I would recomend Fall of Rome cus in my opinion that is one of the best wc3 maps of all time. Quote:
My original thinking comes up with creating my own gameplay concepts and not rigging other people's ideas. (Lewstherin, me and the original creator of diplomacy on wc3 maps, i forgot his name, aagreed that territorial conquest is an age old concept that we didn't rip off anybody.) Quote:
No he/she is welcomed to come up with ideas and add them to the map but if we don't like eachothers ideas we would have to come up with comprimises. That's why I said we would cooperate Quote:
He/She would be patient in finishing the map and wouldn't quite on me. Quote:
I rather not release any information until it is complete because I usually promise a bunch of stuff on my maps and only get about 25% of them in there. It's okay to occasionally assume... |

Now, now, I do admit you are giving this more work then I do lately Santa... shouldn't you be preparing for Christmas ;) Uhhum... Nothing much I can add to what Santa said already, but the most important point. You decide to keep the map hidden, what is that for nonsense? :\ People won't join anyone if they don't know what they have to do. As far as they know they are forced to make a 32 x 32 melee map or something :P And, yeah, I'm a bad mood :P my computer broke down so... -Fladian |

Guest | I apologize. I have been reading my first post over and I only realize now that I sounded very harsh. My apologies. I was in a bad mood. |

Did you? :\ Personally, I didn't really notice that you were being harsh. Just.. pushing the facts a bit. |

Guest | There are more polite ways of pushing the facts. Well, what I know for sure is that I wouldn't have liked it very much if I had been answered the way I just did above. |

*scratches the back of his head* No, I don't think people would mind too much. My usual talk is like that out here on wc3c most of the times... Anyway, you shouldn't really worry about it. Done is done, not much you can do about it. *thinks of the Edit button* -Fladian |

PM me if you want my assistance. I mostly trigger. I can't really terrain. I can do some unit editting. That is about it, but most of my skill lies in heavy triggering. |

Don't you think this is a bit too old now? |

Meh, worth giving it a shot. |

I've been modding for 3 hours a day on week days and 5 hours on weekends for the last week. My map is about 60% complete. I think I'll be done soon and really don't need a partner anymore, but thanks for the offer. Look for my map in a week or so. I'm already having fun playing it incomplete and singleplayer! When it gets to 90%, I think I will write a book about all the possibilities. EDIT: Fladian. Can you tell me what I need to get my map hosted on this sight? Because I really think when it's close to completion (which won't be long) it deserves to be hosted on this sight. And PM if you want details! Or post here and I'll PM you giving details. |
