Guest | I got a bunch of MODELS from a HALF LIFE MOD website and I am trying to convert these to WC3 compatible models, do you know if this is possible and if so how do I do it. |

Guest | They are all in MDL format, but I'm not sure how to import them correctly into WC3, I tried using the import manager but it wont work. |

Yeah coz this really belongs in the models gallery, I believe there are programs that convert the file type but I dont know where, and this is for that map Tribute isnt it? |

just download yobguls fileconverter. it can open mdl and vonvert it to mdx. |

I did try using the file converter but it states that it's an unknown file type, which is odd considering it IS an MDL file...and the reader is supposed to read MDL files..here is one of the files I'm trying to convert, maybe you can help. |

albiino: typo mistake and i didnt feel like editing. ssaiyan12: i get error reading file and unespected token. it happened to me once, i never got it to work. but this is a really weird mdl file. it doesnt make sense if you open it. |

Duh.. the mdl in HL is obviously not the same as the wc3 mdl format. |

duh.. i know that, did you hear me say it wasnt? i only said that this one is very weird and it doesnt make sense. even for a other type of mdl. |

And yes, I thought the converter would say something like that, because as RightField stated before, Half-Life's .mdl files are very different from wc3's ones. Sorry, but I can't help you anymore with this.. you should ask someone who has worked with .mdl files for a long time.. like Oinkerwinkle. |
