Introduction
The idea behind this thread is to give you an idea of the items you'll encounter in We Were Snipers. This is a complete list of all the items and with each you can expect a small description and the price of the item in question.

Now before we begin it's probably good to know that items in We Were Snipers will stack. That is if you buy a Med Pack with three chargers, say you use a charge during a round then buy another Med Pack; you'll now have a Med Pack with five charges. No needless wasting of space in your inventory. This is true with all items in We Were Snipers (that you are allowed to have more than one of).

You might also notice that when you start you have an item called Gun. Well this is your gun, without it you can exactly shoot anyone. However, instead of allowing it to simply take up space you can upgrade it through out the game. You also begin with 20 regular rounds of ammunition. Every time you fire at someone, you use up a round. If you run out of regular ammunition, you can no longer fire at your enemies. So it's wise to make sure you keep a healthy number at all times. Now, on to the good stuff...

Items - We Were Snipers v1.3
The following list of items was generated for We Were Snipers version 1.3. If there are changes made to the items list in subsequent versions they changes will make their way here but may be delayed a few days.

Ammunition
There are four different types of ammunition for your gun providing you with an array of possible in game tactics.
Regular

Cost: 5 gold
Quantity: 10 rounds

This is the regular ammunition used to kill your opponents. While one of the cheapest items available it's probably one of the most undervalued. Many a game have foolish players fallen in combat because they forgot to stock up on ammunition at the beginning of a round. Don't let this happen to you.

Flare

Cost: 8 gold
Quantity: 7 rounds

Flare Ammunition is special ammunition rigged to fire from your gun over suspicious cover or pretty much anywhere you please. While lit the flare's light will undoubtedly reveal any enemy units hiding in the shadows. A very useful ammunition type for offensive rounds to help weed out tricky defenders.

Sniper

Cost: 15 gold
Quantity: 5 rounds

This ammunition is used in combination with the snipe ability, meaning in order to snipe other players from afar you will need this ammunition type. This ammunition has an incredible range and deals extreme damage to the enemy usually killing them instantly (damage determined by level of snipe).

Grenade

Cost: 25 gold
Quantity: 5 rounds

These are special grenade rounds designed to fire from your gun. These are incredibly potent ammunition rounds capable off killing all 6 enemy players at once should they be close enough together. Without protective gear anyone caught in even the lightest reach of a grenade will die. Watch out however, the range of these grenades is nearly half your regular gun. Use with care.

Guns
As would be logical before going into combat, you start with a gun in We Were Snipers. You can however, upgrade it's effectiveness throughout the game.
Gun - Level 1

Cost: Free (Default Weapon)
Quantity: 1 (may only ever have one gun)

While this isn't the best weapon in the world, considering it's free it's mighty damn good. Able to kill enemy soldiers without misfiring or jamming, many players will go through a game and never upgrade beyond the level 1 gun.

Gun - Level 2

Cost: 125 gold total (One Gun Upgrade)
Quantity: 1 (may only ever have one gun)

Stronger than the level one gun, the level two gun provides you with +5 damage. Slightly longer barrel gives the bullet more velocity allowing for greater damage. Many players who opt only to upgrade to level two, are enticed by the power and end up purchasing a level three.

Gun - Level 3

Cost: 250 gold total (Two Gun Upgrades)
Quantity: 1 (may only ever have one gun)

With +10 damage, the level three gun is a weapon to be feared. With the proper focus on damage, when acquiring this gun it is possible to kill some enemies in a single shot. For players seeking power, the level three gun provides it.

Gun Upgrade

Cost: 125 gold
Quantity: 1

If you only have a level two or, worse yet, a level one gun and wish to improve on this. Then purchasing the Gun Upgrade is what you want. It will instantly replace your old piece with the next level gun.

Kevlar
Kevlar is an option that you can choose to get. Once you have Kevlar you can choose to upgrade it improving its efficiency. You must, however, keep maintaining it to ensure it lasts.
Kevlar - Level 1

Cost: 100 gold total (initial purchase)
Quantity: 1 (may only have one Kevlar suit)

If increased chance of survival is what you want then Kevlar, while expensive, is the way to go. Provides you with +3 armour which absorbs a good % of damage that could possibly save your life.

Kevlar - Level 2

Cost: 200 gold total (purchase + one upgrade)
Quantity: 1 (may only have one Kevlar suit)

Upgrading doesn't improve maintenance but it does give you level two Kevlar. This level of Kevlar provides you with +7 armour which absorbs even more damage per hit. Kevlar also reduces damage taken from Snipe but not as much as regular attacks.

Kevlar - Level 3

Cost: 300 gold total (purchase + two upgrades)
Quantity: 1 (may only have one Kevlar suit)

Getting to this level of Kevlar really makes you difficult to kill especially when combined with good focus on attaining health attributes. Level three Kevlar provides you with +11 armour.

Kevlar - Level 4

Cost: 400 gold total (purchase + three upgrades)
Quantity: 1 (may only have one Kevlar suit)

The final level of Kevlar will make you very difficult to kill even with grenades if combined with focus on obtaining the health attribute. Providing you with +16 armour the Kevlar will absorb apprx. 50% of the damage taken buy regular sources and about 20% of the damage taken from Snipe.

Purchase/Upgrade

Cost: 100 gold
Quantity: 1 suit/upgrade

If you want Kevlar or wish to upgrade existing Kevlar, this is what you need. When new Kevlar is purchased it comes with 15 maintenance points. This is not maintenance. That is a different item, and a very important one.

Maintenance

Cost: 30 gold
Quantity: 20 maintenance points

When you first purchase Kevlar it comes with maintenance points. Every time you take damage you lose a point. If you don't maintain your Kevlar and the points reach 0 then the Kevlar is garbage and you lose it. It is very important to keep your Kevlar in top condition because of this. Purchasing Kevlar Maintenance adds 20 maintenance points to your Kevlar.

Miscellaneous
These are other items that you can acquire during the game that don't fall into any of the above categories.
Med Pack

Cost: 15 gold
Quantity: 3 uses

The Med Pack allows you to fully heal yourself in seconds. It is best used in larger games; the reason being that most deaths occur after about two hits. If you take a hit then eliminate your opponent, you can heal then move on. The heal will give you a much better chance of surviving your next encounter. Plus you can use it on allies. If you find that you and your allies are all injured you can heal a couple greatly strengthening your chances.

Backup Battery Supply

Cost: 55 gold
Quantity: 3 uses

When you start the game you'll find that your battery supply can run out a good time before the round ends. For this reason, it can be invaluable to have a back up battery supply in hand. Each use provides you with an additional 20 battery supply.

Receipt

Cost: variable cost
Quantity: 1

Receipts are the result of accidental purchases. If you don't own a suit of Kevlar but purchase maintenance, than you receive a receipt that you can sell back to The Supply Guy for a full refund. Other receipts include Gun Upgrades or Kevlar Upgrades when you're already at your max.

Feedback
As always we are looking for feedback so if you have some suggestions for items (new or old) that you think would improve the game, please let us know. Now there are a few rules that must be followed in order to post in this thread:
  • Post Title must be the current version of WWS
  • Posts must explain with detail why you think it's a good suggestion
  • Posts must be suggestions, no 'Nice items' posts

Title Must be Current Version of WWS: The title of your post has to be the current version of We Were Snipers (Ex: We Were Snipers v1.3, v1.3, etc). The reason for this is in the event that there are a lot of replies and more versions come out. People reading this forum in the future will know if you post is outdated or not. If you do not add the version in the title then either you're post will be deleted, we'll give you a warning, or we'll add it ourselves. Don't complain however, if we just delete your post. You've been warned.

Posts Must Explain in Detail: This rule is in place because without it this thread will fill up with people suggesting that the gun upgrade's cost be reduced. Well, why do you think that? If you can give a suggestion and explain why it's a good reason, then it just may happen. Suggestions I declined will receive a very clear reason. If you have a good argument to counter me, by all means post it.

Posts Must be Suggestions: This should be pretty clear even without explanation. I don't want this thread to fill up with random posts about having a nice array of items. If you do post comments of the sort here they will be deleted. Make a separate thread for those types of comments in the main WWS forums.

For those of you that have never played I hope you now have a general understanding of the items you can encounter. Hopefully this knowledge will speed up you ability to learn the game. Those of you that have played, and have suggestions, please post them.

Thank you,
-Mr.Safety
