Guest | Hey all; I downloaded WinMPQ and have been using it to extract files from Warcraft and Starcraft for use in a campaign I'm making, however, whenever I go to try and extract files from the Starcraft MPQ "StarDat.mpq", I get a bunch of "unknowne files". Anyone know what's going on or how I can fix this? Thanks to anyone who replies.... |

Go to Options... then List Files. Add your listfile there, and boom! |

extracting starcraft files from mpq is possible, but incase you haven't heard, there's easier ways. i picked this up when i was tc'ing starcraft - heck, haven't played it in ages, might break it out and give it a whirl sometime soon. try using Arsenal III as your file editor - it'll load up all the options in a nice interface then using "MPQDraft" as your patch generator - this is a LOT easier to distrobute than a fully fledged StarDat.mpq or BroodDat.mpq. When packaging, however, you must remember to pack all the files - the exes AND the patch mpq. However, you must first create your MPQ - here, use WinMPQ. Create a new MPQ, and add the files that you've modified. Then stick this mpq into MPQDraft as the new mpq to use. Pack this mpq and the exe files generated by MPQDraft into a zip - and you've got a distrobutable mod/campaign/tc/whatever. |
