Guest | Im making the entire wc2 campaign in wc3 i hope some1 will help me, so the quality of it and the speed it will be made at, will improve at least a bit, but if no1 wants to, ill just do it by myself :D (will prob take some YEARS to complete then :P) EDIT: for ppl who start reading from here: i joined WC2 - 2nd Generation, so almost all information and all maps/screenshots arent applicable to this project. After a few threads you will see BlinkBoy's and StrategyMaster's posts, that about the time i joined their team :) |

I'm expecting a post from Satanas here, so I'll keep it short ;) All in all, give more details. This is *WAAAAAAAAAAAY* too little... Right, and I'm off to bed! -Fladian |

Guest | well... I wanted to play Warcraft I and II because they contain important story elements, but, because I was used to the relatively good graphics and the good gameplay of Warcraft III, these games bugged me a little. That's why I got the idea of building the entire Warcraft I and II campaigns in Warcraft III, using the Warcraft III World Editor. For some reason I started with Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. The first map of the WC2:ToD orc campaign is finished, except for cinematics and voicings. The second map of the WC2:ToD orc campaign is nearly done, just needs some more terraining and more trees (and cinematics). This is the first time I'm seriously using the WC3 WE, but I'm learning quick, partially thanks to this fantastic site. Models/Skins/customizing units: I need models of WC2 units, most of which can't easily be found on the internet, so I need some modelers to make me some units (Footman, Archer, Grunt, Troll Axethrower, Zuljin I already downloaded). If anyone wants to do this for me, or has already done it, or just knows where to download it, I will greatly appreciate it if you post here or PM. I will give full credit to anyone who helps me or tries to help me and to everyone I'm using (a) model(s) or skin(s) of. Cinematics: I'm the biggest noob at cinematics, so that's the thing I'll need most help with. I'll get along if I don't get any help, but help would be very greatly appreciated. Ideas: I would like some people to give me ideas to use Warcraft III's additions to their full extent, e.g. hills in the terrain, ... (there are no hills in WC2 or WC1 as far as I know) Voice Acting: I am in great need Orcish and Trollish voice actors right now, becuz I started with the Orc campaign. And, knowing that I suck at voice acting and my native language isn't English, I can barely do it myself. Anything else you think you can help me with will also be more than welcome! I will keep you updated on this project as much as I can. |

Guest | don't know if this should be in a PM, and SATanas, where are you, but do you have a picture of the wc2 orc tower that is pretty big and easy to see? and I'll help w/ buildings if needed, if you provide pics (so i guess that this could be a good post) :) |

Flad... you all right? You... you made a short post o_O Quote:
You might find skinners, but I guarantee you will find NO modeler whatsoever if you don't SHOW the progress you currently have. I'm talking about screenshots, and perhaps even a Demo map or mini campaign. Modelers are rare, and will only work for projects they see have a future. 3/4 of the time, modelers have a sixth sense about which projects are going to see the light of day, and which aren't. And usually, they only join those they see will get out and will work. That's a fact. Quote:
Correct, there are none. But I don't see why you need an idea-guy for a conversion. The whole point of a conversion is transform an old game into a new one using a currently played game. Therefore, no need for an idea guy. Just do whatever warcraft II did. Quote:
Forget about that. Only get voice actors when the campaign has been 100% finished. Otherwise, you will just waste the voice actors' and your time. Quote:
That would be StrategyMaster at mod-forge. You can find his map at www.wc3sear.ch which is called Warcraft II Revolution or something like that. Well, the picture is basically a cinematic warcraft II Orc. The map is unprotected and everyone is allowed to use it (I asked him) and it contains all the correct units stats and spells for warcraft II. It is a perfect replica of warcraft II. |

I was perfectly fine Santa. I thought my last sentence would clear up why I was making it so short. "Right, I'm off to bed" pretty much claims that I'm tired :P Modelers aren't the only kind of people who can do that ;) Those people who stick to the Team Gathering forum long enough can see it, easily, as well. There for, I don't doubt my words ;) But still, like you said, modelers are rare. *scratches the back of his head* (ain't I do that often?) An idea man for a conversion? At moments such as these, I wish I had more luck in my love life... This has been a while... Voice actors are only supposed to be recruited when the project is near, or at least 80% (if memory serves... what would be nice for a change) finished. Otherwise, it is useless asking for them, unless voice actors join without any ask for them. Lord Duke was doing that until recently... a while before Santa appeared. I'll stick to this... I'm off to continue my study... -Fladian |

well euhm it doesnt contain any unit models or anything so its not really useful for me :P except the oil patch will be VERY useful (if i can use it that is) is there any1 who can make a campaign background for the place where you choose the level you wanna play (id like something that looks like the ones from the original wc3 campaigns, but it doesnt have to move or sth, though that would be nice ^^) |

Guest | Not very useful? Dude, that is the map for Warcraft II conversion. It contains EVERY single formula and spell triggers. This is basically Warcraft II on wc3 without the art. This ios the most accurate map you'll ever find about the wc2 data. It has the correct data for all the units (life, speed, armor...etc). It has the correct upgrades AND upgrade system that was used in wc2. The spells are the exact ones that were used in wc2. EVERY detail in this map is loyal to wc2. This is a MUST download for anyone doing a wc2 conversion... |

Guest | yeh i spoke too quick ^^ i only looked at unit models when i posted that :P ill refrase: it isnt very useful for getting models from, except the oil patch :) screenshots will be here some time tomorrow or very late tonight |
