to have a glow for an object do u juss add a lotta team glows of a certain color and pile them on one after another? im basically askin how u get the same type of effects w3 does like really glowy or shiny stuff kinda like holy light or something of that sort. |

What do u mean by "shiny" ? Do you want a lens-flare effect? Do you want a specular effect? Please better define how you want this to look. |

hmm...sry bout the ambiguity, but newayz...i want like an object on warcraft to GLOW...kinda like the wisp...like when i make models the skin turns out dull, but thats fine ... but when i make abilities it also comes out dull, and that looks horrible...im using max4.2 by the way. forexample, i want some object to stick out... i kno this is still a pretty bad explanation, so maybe could u give a brief explanation how to do the basics in all those shiny and glowy abilities like lense flare and specular? that would be great... |

Hmmm, maybe you can try to create a sphere around the object you want to glow, and put a semitransparent (alpha) texture on it. |

hmm...taht would add a crapload of polys, like i think w3 does it w/ overlappin planes or something... ii think i juss need a brief crashcourse in spell/ability making... actually i was wondering how i would make an object explode...i kno its some animation involved but i was juss wonderin what i would need to do |
