Dear god... I absolutely love these. Realitic enough, yet mystical as well. I am humbled. Especially by the forest shots, they look like something out of LoTRs. Can't really see anything wrong with em. |

yes, that really looks quite great, especially the Stronghold. usualy i don't like human buildings but this one looks quite nice with the giant scaled town hall, the statue and "house" behind. |

They're decent at best in my opinion... They rely more on custom models rather than actual terraining. |

Meh, Kinda boring...Nothing really happening in them... |

^_^ You're right there don't happen anything in this Pictures, thats TERRAIN! It's not an image of an action scene from LotR so what do you want? Look out of the Window in your room or take a walk in the forest, what do you see there? Fighting demons and undeads? No you dont - just the Environment thats it, nothing less, nothing more. The custume Models you can see there are made by me to 80% and you mean that the Stronghold is only a custume model? So look at the attached image, the whole castle you can see is just based on this 2 simple Models i made, i worked ~8h on the Strorghold, isn't that terraining :( ? I cant understand what you want me to do, im not god... : |

The first shot... is that DaemonKillar's sky? Either way, post the .blp I agree with shining light. The 2nd shot needs a better sky. |

No the Sky is the Model of the Orc Gluescreen ;)! |

Overall, well done... I especially like forest scenes + castle is good too. I would change fog in screenshot 1 and maybe remove screenshot 2 (too heavy fog and no sky).. Other than that, good job... (I have nothing wrong with people using custom models, I believe they are the future of terraining.) |

Wonder how you got it so big without crashing the editor/computer... |

Very nice! but how were you able to use the Orc gluescreen model without WE getting an error? |
| 11-06-2004, 10:02 AM | #12 |
U have to be VERY careful with scaling the Sky, I tried it 5 times and than the WE didnt crash. What color of fog would you suggest in Picture 1 @ Kleptik Soul? b²m |

well i do admire you getting right into the site because obviously your new here. i dont really recommend anything other than that thoughs pictures werent really terrain they were mostly custom doodads, i do think that the forest ones are prety good but i highly suggest that you try making a scene without any custom doodads, i mostly say this because i dont really like super reall looking scenes thats the whole point of warcraft, its a fantasy world with things that dont really fit into our world.
